Dear Friends,
us. And I thank you for making a re-assessment of your giving and what more you might do for our amazing parish.
I hope you can use the envelope you received to make a new commitment to the parish this week. All the good that we’ve been able to do has been because of your generosity. Thank you for being good stewards of what God has given you and for giving back to him.
2. Next Saturday, November 2 is All Souls’ Day and for all who are in purgatory. They depend on our prayers to make it to heaven and it is a holy work of charity to pray for them and offer Masses for the repose of their souls. For the occasion we will celebrate a special outdoor Mass for all those buried in St. Lawrence Cemetery at noon. All are welcome to join us.
3. Next Friday, November 1 is All Saints Day evening before at 6:30, and on Friday at 8:30, noon, and 6:30, as well as 7:30 pm Spanish and 7:00 pm

Kidz Chapel, and All Stars, I honestly feel a spark of happiness in my chest! I can listen to the readings, learn from the homily, and know that my children are learning about the gospel in a loving and caring environment.
Moms and Dads with children 3 and under can drop-off their little ones for free babysitting at KidZone up to 15 minutes before the 9:30 am or 11 am Mass, picking them up at the end of Mass. For 4 to 6-year-olds we have All Stars and for 7 to 9-year-olds we have Kidz Chapel. Children are called up in the beginning of Mass, and then returned to their parents before the consecration prayer and communion.

Try KidZone, All Stars, and Kidz Chapel, and know that your children will be loved and cared for. These programs are kid-tested and approved. They might be asking you when Mass is again.

Our path to WeShare giving start-ed with Transformed. One of the topics of the course was money
thoughtfully, intentionally, and most importantly, prayerfully. The course calls for us to reach the 10% tithe as outlined in the bible. I don’t know about you - but we weren’t
cash), and we never knew what we were consistently giving, so we were unable to review the amounts in the way that we learned how. The one thing that we did know is that we were not giving 10%.
Once we set up our direct giving - everything changed.
at a comfortable amount for our family, and then regularly reviewed our contributions with the intention of making ourselves uncomfortable (but sustainable) by increasing that giving. Our goal is still that 10% tithe and WeShare is helping us to accomplish that goal.
LEAVE A LEGACY OF LOVE
It is important for everyone to have a will in order to insure your assets are directed according to your intentions and that every-thing is clear when you go back to God. Many people distribute what they have among loved ones and also generously leave a portion of their assets to the parish.
You can leave a gift to build up the future of your parish (St. Law-rence or Sacred Heart) with a bequest in your will. Some people leave a percentage such as 10% of their estate to the church, and
Previous generations of Catholics built up the church we inherited... leave your legacy for the Catholics to come after us.

stewardship: source of deepening spiritualityDaniel Conway
God never stops giving! If we truly seek a deeper rela-tionship with God, our response is to praise God for this great treasure and to demonstrate our gratitude by tak-ing care of, and sharing, God’s wonderful gifts every day.
I began thinking about stewardship in the early 1990s and had the great privilege of learning about stewardship from the late Seattle Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy, who at that time was chairman of the United States bishops’ ad hoc committee on stewardship and the principal architect of the bishops’ pastoral letter, Stewardship: A Disciple’s Response.
Stewardship describes a Christian steward as “one who receives God’s gifts gratefully, cherishes and tends them in a respon-sible and accountable manner, and returns them with increase to the Lord” (SDR, p. 9). Because God never stops giving, a Christian steward is
constantly being invited, and challenged, to receive, cherish, share and return-with-increase the fruits of God’s abundant generosity. This is why stewardship is a lifelong responsibility. As long as God keeps giving, we are called to be open and responsive to all his gifts, both spiritual and material.
Stewardship is a source of deepening spirituality because it challenges us to let go of any false notions that we are somehow in control of our lives, our skills and our talents,
of what belongs exclusively and entirely to God.
God has given us the gift of life and the gift of intelli-
and developing our minds and growing in wisdom and -
ties that allow us to earn a living, care for those we love, and contribute to the common good by our work and by our service to others in the Church and in our community. These gifts of time and talent make it possible for us to acquire the material possessions that we need and enjoy. All God’s gifts are good. They are meant to be used responsibly and shared generously with others.
Stewardship helps us develop what Archbishop Murphy called a lifestyle of sharinggoodness by growing in gratitude, responsibility and generosity, we can experience the difference stewardship makes in our daily lives. As the archbishop said, stew-
fundamental in our lives—and to respond from the heart. Stewardship is not a program. It is a way of life.
Stewardship helps us recognize that the ordinary expe-riences of daily living are gifts from God to be cherished and shared with others. Since God never stops giving, our opportunities to respond from the heart are truly endless. That’s why Archbishop Murphy believed that stewardship is a way of life—and a lifelong source of grace and deepening spirituality.
ALL GOD’S GIFTS ARE GOOD.
THEY ARE MEANT TO BE USED
RESPONSIBLY AND SHARED GENEROUSLY WITH OTHERS.
