Skywalk at Grand Canyon
The Skywalk is situated on the Hualapai Indian Reservation at a new resort called Grand Canyon West. Over 100 visitors use the glass observatory at a time. The glass bottom overhangs the canyon by about 65 feet. Needless to say, the vista is breathtaking. At this point there is a 4,000 ft drop to the Colorado River below. Part of the design brief is to withstand an earthquake and 100 mile an hour wind sprrd.

The canyon's depth is 900 meters here. The rock on the right is safe.
After the sun set behind the canyon's horizon, he packed his things (leaving only one hand available) and prepared himself for the jump.
This took about 2 minutes.
At that point he had the full attention of the breathless crowd.
