A Full Range of Design Solutions To meet the needs of your unique projects, Firestone offers a variety of performance engineered solutions:
SkyScape Pregrown Modular Systems in 2.5", 4", 6" and 8" media depths (see pages 3-4).
SkyScape Built-in-Place Systems (see page 5), including Extensive, Semi-Intensive and Intensive vegetative roofs.
Easy to Install SkyScape Pregrown Modular Systems are compact (approximately 2 sq. ft. per unit), lightweight and simple to install. Our Built-in-Place systems integrate filter fabric, drainage panel, and geotextile into a single roll to reduce labor. All SkyScape systems are designed to install easily, giving the building owner a complete and beautiful vegetative roof from the day of installation.
Field-Proven, Lab-Approved A decade of field experience in vegetative roofing has enabled Firestone to provide thriving systems that we confidently warranty for up to 30 years.
Firestone Growing Media is blended to Forschungsgesellschaft Landschaftsentwicklung Landschaftsbau (FLL) international standards and is regionally formulated to maximize sustainable plant growth in multiple climatic conditions
SkyScape plants, including our award-winning Sedum Mats, are designed specifically for rooftop survivability, and are customized to each project's unique climatic conditions and USDA Hardiness Zone
All of our systems meet ANSI/SPRI RP-14 design guidelines for wind uplift resistance SkyScape Pregrown Modular Systems are FM approved for fire resistance

SkyScape Pregrown Modular SystemsA True Engineered Environment
Module sides are open-honeycombed to allow for interconnectivity of moisture and soil nutrients across the entire vegetative roof system
Module floor maximizes storm water management through unitized drainage/retention reservoirs Module floor sits 1.75" above the roof surface to facilitate proper air flow beneath the vegetative
roof system All four sides interlock to create a monolithic assembly that resists wind uplift Optional grown-in irrigation is available upon request (see page 7 for further detail)
Green Roof Plants That Are Built to Last Tended under nurseryman care, in the field, not in greenhouses, for months prior to delivery, to
promote thriving root structures and maximum plant longevity The SkyScape plants in our standard pregrown mix are proven performers in rooftop
microenvironments SkyScape plants are grown according to appropriate, academic and time proven propagation
methods, to enable true hardiness and longevity, not fast-grown with fertilizers like some other green roof providers

SkyScape Built-in-Place SystemsSkyScape Extensive Systems
Functional Vegetative Roofs for Effective Storm Water Management(less than 6" media depth) The single-roll drainage system features the 0.5" or 1.0" SkyScape Drainage Panel with filter fabric bonded to the top and a geotextile bonded to the underside. Extensive Systems are among the most popular type of vegetative roofing due to their lighter weight, shorter installation time and ability to effectively manage storm water to meet local code requirements. Our award-winning SkyScape sedum mats are recommended.
This meadow-like, easy-to-install vegetative roof also serves as a functional storm water management platform. Drought-tolerant succulent plant species form the basis of an Extensive System plant mix and come in a variety of deliverables for installation.
SkyScape Semi-Intensive Systems
Designer-Driven, Aesthetically Inspired Vegetative Roofs (6-8" media depth)
This system features deeper media, allowing for a truly designed rooftop landscape and more complex plants, including accent plugs and perennials, than an Extensive System. This system includes either our 0.5" drainage panel, or our 1.0" drainage panel, with filter fabric bonded to the top and a geotextile bonded to the underside.
Depending on plants selection and project location, an irrigation system may be recommended to ensure plant health.
SkyScape Intensive Systems
Creative and Imaginative Rooftop Gardens (8" and greater media depth) Perfect for amenity spaces, the full palette of options opens itself to your creative design influence, all backed by the Red Shield Warranty. Custom-created rooftop landscapes using highly varied plantings - including native forbes and grasses, large perennials, flowers, shrubs, and trees - multiple heights and depths of plants and planting areas, rolling topographical effects, and spaces that include colored rock, pavers, and benches - all come to life with SkyScape Intensive Systems. These systems typically use our 1.25" Drainage Panel, which can be augmented with capillary mats, drainage aggregrate, or combinations of mats and aggregrate, to achieve proper drainage under extremely deep systems.

Growing Media and PlantsSkyScape Growing Media Blended according to FLL guidelines, SkyScape Growing Media includes high-quality, inorganic aggregates and organic components that optimize survivability. Each blend is regionally formulated to meet the climatic conditions of your project location and to ensure that your vegetative roof acclimates and thrives from day one.
Plant Selection Selecting the right varieties of plants for your vegetative roof is critical to its longevity. They must meet the climatic conditions of each project while also growing cooperatively with one another.
That’s why Firestone offers our customers professional assistance in selecting plants, and will work with your design team to create a custom plant palette that remains beautiful and robust for years to come.
Custom Plants A nearly unlimited selection of custom plants is available, including natives, grasses, perennials, forbs, shrubs and even small trees. Let us know how you envision your rooftop garden design, and we will work with you to meet your vision, with roof-appropriate plants that will thrive in the project's climatic conditions.
