Architectural innovation – a patented system

The principle…. Plants… …are sown on the façade and grow on the ceramic layer. They consume little water and require minimum maintenance. Over 100 species can be used.

Ceramic… …is the visible face of the façade. This attractive, noble material is porous, which allows roots to penetrate and the substrate to breathe.

Substrate… …The support providign nutrients for the plants to grow. Specially designed for optimum growth, it is composed of mainly mineral matter.

Concrete… …is the effective support of the façade system. Ultra-high-performance fiber-reinfored concrete enables weight and thickness to be minimized.

Urban development in Geneva, Switzerland

Current Geneva population is 476’ 000 Up to 50’000 new housing units to be build until 2030. Therefore the Geneva state tend to involve local communities in order to maintain goals in terms of costs, timing and implementation of urban projects.

Acoustic properties

SKYFLOR® have excellent transmission properties (TLn > 35 dB). Absorption properties are very good and vary according to the width of substrat and water saturation. Average dL (A, α, Str): 6-7 dBA
