Scandinavian lifestyle, design and traditions are words that best describe Skräddaregatan.

A company that bases its traditions back to King Gustav II Adolf’s time, when he himself stood in the place where the street Skräddaregatan is today.

Design Studio Skräddaregatan takes its name from the street on which it is located, which in English directly trans-lates as “tailors street”.

The design studio follows the time honoured crafts and tailoring of seafarers that once existed on the street more than 200 years ago.History tells us that a fire devoured 218 houses on this street in the year 1804.

Today there is only one house left which is the present day location of Design Studio Skräddaregatan. This is where history ends, and our story begins.

The pillow The Swedish Love Affair was shown first at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2008 and has been featured in 11 Design and Lifestyle magazines as well as Swedish national television.

Each pillow is hand crafted out of the highest quality worsted yarn. All materials are made in Sweden.


Stockholm Furniture Fair provided us with a great oppor-tunity to present The Swedish Love Affair. The response was beyond our expectations.

Visitors came from around the world and sat and lay on our unique lounge pillow while relaxing with an espres-so in their hands, just the way we anticipated them to do while at home. It appeared as though our lounge pil-low was more popular than the chairs from the cafe next door.

We are both proud and pleased with the fantastic recep-tion we have received through publications in various de-sign and lifestyle magazine in Sweden and beyond.

On top of this we even had celebrities visiting us dur-ing the fair; we enjoyed the presence of Edelkoorts’ trend team and had great conversations with the guest of hon-our, Mr Giulio Cappellini. He even found a likeness to the traditional Swedish short-bread that we served guests and sent him a box of it to his Milano based office, the value of which should not be considered a bribe.


The Swedish Love Affair is a pillow inspired by genuine Swedish traditions, bespoke craftsmanship and with thoughts on sustainable development.

All materials are 100% recyclable, a concept that fits well with a sustainable product life cycle and a respon-sible Swedish way of life.
