ESTABLISHMENT
Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Pharmacy,
Kondhwa (Bk.), Pune under the aegis of
Sinhgad Technical Education Society has
been established in the year 2005-06 for
the conduct of B. Pharm. course with 60-
intake capacity. It is the thirteenth year of
inception of the institute. The institute
offers B. Pharm course with 100 intake and
PG courses (M. Pharm) in Pharmaceutics,
Pharmaceutical Chemistry , Pharmacology
& Pharmaceutial Quality Assurance . It also
offers Ph. D. programme in Pharmaceutical
Sciences. It enjoys the approval of All India
Council for Technical Education (AICTE),
Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), State Govt.
of Maharashtra, Directorate of Technical
Education (DTE), MS, Mumbai. One division
of 60 intake of B. Pharm course has
permanent affiliation status by the
Savitribai Phule Pune University from the
year 2012-13. The B. Pharm course is
accredited by NBA for three years from
academic year 2013-14. The college also
enjoys 2 (f) & 12B status of University
Grants Commission.

Goat Farm, A/P Savindane, Tal. Shirur, Pune. The execution of the projects work encompasses activities “
Formulation development of cosmetic product” & “Assessment of frozen semen samples of goats for sperm
count and motility”.
Meetings Governing Body & College Development Committee (CDC)
The first meeting of College Development Committee constituted as per provisions of section 97(1) of
Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016 of Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Pharmacy, Kondhwa (Bk), was
convened on May 5, 2017 at 12.00 noon in the office of the Founder Secretary, STES, Karve Road, Pune 04 to
transact the business as per following agenda.
The second meeting of College Development Committee (CDC) constituted as per provisions of section 97(1)
of Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016 of Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Pharmacy, Kondhwa (Bk), was
convened on November 8, 2017 at 3.00 pm in the office of the Founder Secretary, STES, Karve Road, Pune 04.

Each academic year is divided into two semesters and teaching programmes are organized around the credit
system. Teaching includes lectures, tutorials, practicals, projects, seminars; problem based learning (PBL)
dissertations and field & industrial training. The Institute lays special emphasis on the tutorial system, which is
based on a close personal interaction between students and teachers. A distinct feature of the education
system at SKNCOP is the emphasis on overall personality development and instilling in students the qualities
of leadership. Thus, extracurricular activities are an important part of student life.

Induction Programme
Sinhgad Technical Education Society's, Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Pharmacy (SKNCOP), Kondhwa Pune –
411048, Maharashtra organized Induction Programme for newly admitted First Year B. Pharm students on
August 10, 2017 at 10.00 am. Dr. S. D. Sawant, Principal of the college welcomed the chief guest &
participants. All students were provided with Induction Kit including the academic calendar. More than 90
students, their parents & faculty members participated in the programme. Principal of the college, Chief
guest- Dr. Himadri Sen, Member, Board of Director, Strategy and Scientific Affairs Chairman –Steer life ,
Mumbai, Ex-President – R & D (Generics, NDDS) & Global Quality Ranbaxy Labs., India, Ex-President, Lupin
Ltd., Pune, inaugurated the event.
Dr. Himadri Sen, in his motivational talk explained the importance of the profession and addressed the
students for their career path ahead with a focus on Entrepreneurship development. The session was followed

by information and interactive talk of Principal Dr. S. D. Sawant, he guided the newly admitted students on
Scope and potential of Pharmacy Profession. Prof. S. N. Nawale, Vice president (Emeritus) was present a guest
of honour. Second half started with informative talk by Dr. M. P. Mahajan, Professor, SKNCOP explained about
the Course Structure and Examination Pattern. Ms. Manjusha Dole, Asst. Prof. SKNCOP guided the students on
various study methodology techniques. Dr. (Mrs.) J. R. Madan, Training & Placement officer of college
explained about various activities of Training & Placement. She focused on skills required for overall grooming
of students to improve the employability of candidate for pharmaceutical industry. The seminar concluded
with informative presentation of Mrs. Mukta Abhyankar on various activities of the year along with the staff
coordinators for the same. Ms. Manjusha Dole, proposed the vote of thanks for the programme. Mrs. M. C.
Singh, Asst. Prof. SKNCOP gave the closing remarks of the function.
“Innovation 2017”: Regional Research Conference
The Innovation 2017 Regional research conference for Pharmacy faculty was jointly organized by University th research cell, Savitribai Phule Pune University and Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Pharmacy on 18
November 2017 at 9.30 am to 5.30 pm. The inaugural program started with Saraswati pujan. Dr. Rajesh B. Patil,
Co-ordinator of the Innovation 2017 gave the preamble. In his preamble he elaborated the Innovation
conference purpose and vision of Savitribai Phule Pune University in organizing such conference. He also gave
general instructions to the participants. Principal Dr. S. D. Sawant then gave a welcome-address. In his
wecome-address he elaborated on keys of research and its impact on society. He also pointed out few
innovations in pharmaceutical fields.Chief guest Dr. Bhushan Patwardhan in the key note address guided the
participants about the role of research in Pharmaceutical sciences. The inaugural program was concluded by
the vote of thanks by Ms. Tejinder Kaur Marwaha (Faculty, SKNCOP). Upon the conclusion, all the PIs and
experts then preceded to the respective rooms where the presentations were arranged.
Presentations were arranged at six different rooms. Presentations were conducted from 11.30 am to 1.15 pm,
followed by a lunch break upto 2.00 pm. Presentations continued from 2.00 pm till the end till 5.30 pm. 14
Projects of Pharmaceutics were evaluated by Dr. Mrs. Amelia Avachat and 13 Projects of Pharmaceutics were
evaluated by Dr. P. V. Kasture. 14 Projects of Pharmaceutical Chemistry were evaluated by Dr. S. H. Bhosale. 13
Projects of Pharmaceutical Chemistrywere evaluated by Dr. R. L. Sawant. 16 Projects of Pharmacology were
evaluated by Dr. S. R. Naik. 11 Projects of Pharmacognosy were evaluated by Dr. Ajay Namdeo. Thus out of 81
research projects, 78 presentations were delivered by PIs. Three PIs did not report and present their projects.
Dr. Gourishankar Aland was appointed by Savitribai Phule Pune University as an Observer. At the end of
conference all the experts handed over their expert evaluation forms to Dr. R. B. Patil Co-ordinator of
Innovation. He then sealed these evaluation sheets along with registration forms and list of participants in
front, in presence of observer.

Freshers - Welcome Party
thFreshers party was organized in the college on 18 August 2017 by second year and M.Pharm students to
welcome First year B.Pharm and M.Pharm students. Mr. Sarthak Jain and Ms. Radha Chafle were selected as
Mr. and Ms. Fresher on this day. The program was coordinated by Mrs. M. M. Abhyankar and Mrs. P. P. Lasure.
Silver Jubilee Event Celebration (Treasure Hunt)
As part of STES Silver Jubilee celebrations Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Pharmacy conducted treasure hunt ndgame on 22 August 2017 at Sibar Lawns. Five teams comprising of eight students each from SKNCOP, SCOC,
SIBAR (MBA), SIBAR (MCA), SAE participated in the game. It was inaugurated by Dr.(Mrs) Vijaya S. Nawale in
presence of Dr. S. D. Sawant, Principal SKNCOP, Dr. K. P. Patil, Principal SAE, Dr M. Wazal, Principal SCOC, Dr
Avdhoot Pol, Director SIBAR (MBA). The Treasure Hunt consisted of 9 clues placed on entire Kondhwa Campus,
each one leading to the next clue. The team that reached the Treasure with all clues solved first was declared as
a winner. The winning team was SKNCOP and runners up SIBAR (MBA). The game was well enjoyed by all
students and staff members.
Also as a part of Silver Jubilee Celebration Rangoli Competition, Drawing Competition, Collage competition,
Greeting Card making Competition was organized.
Teachers DaythTeachers day was celebrated in college on 12 September 2017. In the morning session the lectures and
practicals of first, second and third year students were conducted by final year students.Various entertainment
programs were arranged for the teachers by the students in the afternoon session.The program was
coordinated by Mrs. M. M. Abhyankar and Mrs. P. P. Lasure.
Dandiya Navratri -2017thDandiya Navratri -2017 was arranged on 28 September 2017 at STES parking ground, Vadgoan. The students
of various classes participated in the event.
World Pharmacists DaythWorld Pharmacists Day was celebrated on 25 September 2017 at Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Pharmacy.
“From research to health care: Your pharmacist is at your service” was the theme of this year's World
Pharmacists Day. The major focus of World Pharmacists Day celebrations was to organize activities that
promote the role of pharmacist in improving health in every corner of the world. The event was inaugurated by
Mr. Mustafa Attar, Reporter, Maharashtra Times; Dr. S. D. Sawant, Principal SKNCOP; Ms. Tejinder Kaur
Marwaha, NPW coordinator at SKNCOP. Dr. S. D. Sawant addressed the students by his inspiring words. Mr.
Mustafa Attar presented the current scenario of retail pharmacist in the society. There was an overwhelming
response from students for the event. They celebrated this day by wearing white t-shirts and badges with
'Proud Pharmacist' quote. The students showcased their creativity by organizing Patient counseling and
Pharma Ad Mad act. A short video was made by the students to recognize and acknowledge the hard work,
contributions of the pharmacist to the society. The chief guest felicitated NPW 2017 winners. The celebrations
ended with Rally for Rivers Campaign.

SKNCOP�NPW�Celebrations
The major focus of NPW celebrations is to create awareness amongst the public, other healthcare providers
and the authorities, about the pharmacy profession and role of the pharmacist. Indian Pharmaceutical
Association, Pune Local Branch & Pharmacy Colleges of Pune District jointly organized National Pharmacy th thWeek 2017 from 18 to 25 September 2017. Total 53 Students from SKNCOP participated in various NPW
events.
As part of organizing institutes Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Pharmacy, Kondhwa (Bk), Pune, organized
Debate Competition. The competition was inaugurated by Prof. S. N. Navale, Vice President of STES Kondhwa
Campus; Dr. S. D. Sawant, Principal SKNCOP; Dr. Dilnawaz Pathan, NPW convenor; Ms. Tejinder Kaur Marwaha,
NPW coordinator SKNCOP and two judges appointed by the IPA Pune branch Mr. Manoj Jograna (Asst. Prof.
Shankarrao Ursal College of Pharmacy, Pune) and Dr. Prasanna Deshpande (Asst. Prof. Poona College of
Pharmacy, Pune). Total 30 teams participated in the competition, (12 Diploma, 12 PG and 36 UG). Teams spoke
on a given topic under 'For' and 'Against' category. The ceremony ended with Rally for Rivers Awareness
Campaign.

NSS (National Service Scheme) Special Camp
NSS Camp was organized under the NSS scheme by STES's Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Pharmacy, rd thKondhwa at, Bori Pardhi, Choufulla Solapur Road, District Pune from 23 Jan 2018 to 29 Jan 2018.
Various activities such as cleaning of the base camp & five temples nearby, tree plantation outside the base
camp, building and embankment of water were carried out by the students. Students also visited Prajakta
School for mentally retarded children & assisted them in cleaning of residential premises & tree plantation.
Lectures were given by Mr. Handal, Mr. Vatre & Mr. Chavhan Sir, and Mr. Jayaram Supe during the camp.
The programme was concluded with the address of Mr. Gadade and Mr. Vatre, Pune, who addressed the
students on teamwork, self-independence and importance of social work. Faculty member Mrs. Anupama
Suralkar coordinated the programme.
Industrial Visit at Lupin Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
Two days industrial visit was organized by Sinhgad Technical Education Society's Smt. Kashibai Navale College
of Pharmacy for Second year B. Pharm students at Lupin Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Aurangabad from 07/10/2017 to
08/10/2017.
The visit included general overview of pharmaceutical industries by HR Dept and also about company's
growth and status. Total 76 students visited different departments and sections of pharmaceutical
manufacturing like, raw material storage, manufacturing (compression, granulation etc.) blister and strip
packaging, finished product storage, and ware house, water system, filtration system, etc.
The objective of this visit was to brief them with the functioning of various departments of a pharmaceutical
industry thus helping them to grow as competent professionals.
Environmental Field TripstEnvironmental Field Trip was arranged on 1 Oct 2017 for S.Y. B. Pharm. Students at Tamihini Ghat Mulshi. Total
students present were 115. The trip included visit to Tata power plant project. Faculty member Mr. Prashant
Sarda coordinated the field trip accompanied by Mrs. Anupama Suralkar.
Education Cum Pleasure Tourth thEducation cum Pleasure Tour was arranged for Final year B. Pharm students from 6 Feb to 14 Feb 2018 at
Shimla-Kulu-Manali. Total 52 students participated the tour with faculty Coordinators Mr. Prashant Sarda and
Ms. Tejinder Kaur Marwaha.

Parent Teacher Meetingth First Parent Teacher Meeting for second year, third year & final year B.Pharm. students was conducted on 15
thSeptember 2017 and second Parent Teacher meeting of academic year 2017-18 was organized on 27 March
2018.The event was coordinated by Mrs. Preeti Lasure. The agenda for the meeting was to discuss the guardian
teacher scheme for the students, examination pattern for sessional & SPPU exam, facilities in college and
campus. Further feedback was collected from the parents. One to one meeting was arranged between parents
and guardian teacher.
Alumni Association ActivitiesthGuest lecture by alumnus Mr. Anand Dalya was organized on 13 September 2017 for Third year & Final year B.
Pharm. He spoke on “Career & Opportunities for Pharmaceutical Sales & Marketing.”
Medical Check Up
Compulsory health check up of 109 students of first year B. Pharm , 30 students of F. Y. M.Pharm, and directly
admitted 15 students of S. Y. B. Pharm & 55 hostel students from third & final year was carried out ( Total no 209
students) during Oct. to Dec. 2017 at SKNCOP. Activity was coordinated by Mrs. Preeti Lasure.
Farewell Function thFarewell function was organized in the college on 11 April 2018 for final year B.Pharm and M.Pharm students.
thDr. Mahesh Burande, President IPCA 67 IPC was the chief guest for the farewell function. Ms.Prajakta. Borde
and Ms Ankita .Palival was selected as Best outgoing student from B.Pharm and M.Pharm batch respectively.
The event was coordinated by Mrs. M.M. Abhyankar and Ms.Tejander Kaur.

Training and Placement Cell is an integral part of Sinhgad Technical Education Society's Smt. Kashibai Navale
College of Pharmacy, (SKNCOP) Kondhwa (Bk.) Pune, a premier institute in Pune city offering Under Graduate
Program (B. Pharm.), Post Graduate Programs (M. Pharm.) and Ph.D. program. The Training and Placement Cell
(TPC) has been set up with an objective of bringing industry and academia close to each other. TPC team
