The engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, installing, and maintaining the instrumentation used to monitor and control NGPD facilities processes and machinery.

Minimum RequirementsAs the successful candidate you will hold an Engineering degree from a recognized and approved program.

Minimum of 9 years of experience in oil and gas industry, or similar.

Must have an extensive background in instrumentation, and ideally, with Process Control Systems.

Have experience in design and projects relating to oil and gas processing plants.

Be familiar with international codes and specifications applicable to the oil industry.

Experience in associated disciplines involved in processes at oil and gas facilities.

Knowledge of good engineering practices, economic practices, calculation methods, design details, standards and specifications.

Be familiar with field instrumentation, and ideally, with Process Control Systems (Distributed Control System, Emergency Shutdown System, Vibration Monitoring System, etc.).

Experience in oil process plants or the petrochemical industry as Instrumentation/Control System Engineer.

Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe candidate is expected to be able to perform the following:

Develop basic instrumentation/control system design documents, including: ISS, P&IDs, ILDs, Elementaries, Logic, interconnection drawings, etc.

Troubleshoot field instrumentation.

Review and implement projects and design changes related to instrumentation and the control system.Train younger engineers in the field of instrumentation.

Prepare design packages consisting of drawings, scope of work and bill of materials for new and existing instrumentation/control system activities in oil processing facilities.

Investigate, analyze, and troubleshoot instrumentation/control system incidents and near-miss events, including preparation of technical reports identifying the root cause and necessary recommendations to prevent the reoccurrence of the same incident or near-miss event.

Identify plan, and implement instrumentation upgrades and improvements.

Project support, from design reviews to pre-commissioning/commissioning of instrumentation and control systems.
