Brief about Skill Council for Green Jobs
Skill Council for Green Jobs (SCGJ) is a registered Autonomous Society
created under the aegis of NSDC and Ministry of Skill Development and
Entrepreneurship, Government of India.
As per the Gazette notification of Government of India, Skill Council for
Green Jobs has been given the responsibility to develop National Occupational
Standards for Skilling and Certification of those skills against the standards in
the domain of ‘Green Businesses’.
Being renewable energy as one of the important verticals of activities of SCGJ,
the Council is promoted by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE)
and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Summary
Skill Council for Green Jobs (SCGJ) came into being with the emphasis given to
sustainable development through green skills by Government of India.
SCGJ is working closely with the industry, entrepreneurs, banks and financial
institutions in the development of National Occupational Standards, Model
Curriculums and Courseware.
SCGJ is advising the traditional education ecosystem on how to integrate the
green skilling component in the formal and informal sector.
SCGJ is acting as the bridge between the Government, Industry and academic
institutions, to facilitate all stakeholders for smooth adoption of skilled manpower
