• Teacher will pick some papers from students’ 3 – 2 – 1 Activity. Call some students to share their answers on the particular question about 6th and 9th Commandments.

We Connect• Sacrament of Matrimony binds a very

especial love of a man and a woman through God’s blessings. Couple is called by God to share the responsibility of building up a home and family and they are also called to be faithful to each other. Married couple is called to follow the sixth and ninth commandments.

Group Report

• Group 2 will do their group reporting for 15 - 20 minutes about the sixth and ninth commandments.

• Students/ audience will again write one question and learning based on the report.

We Pray to God

• My God, You have given me a body to keep pure and clean and healthy for Your service and my eternal happiness. Forgive me for all my unfaithfulness in this great responsibility. Forgive me for every mean use which I have made of Your gifts in thought, word or deed since my rebirth as Your own adopted child in Baptism. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and give me a steadfast will that I may be a strength to others around me.

We Pray to God• Teach me to respect my body and the bodies of

my fellow creatures. Help me to see the glory of perfect manhood In Jesus Christ and of perfect womanhood in Mary Immaculate. Inspire me with such love for the ideals for which our Savior lived and died that all my passions and energies will be caught up into the enthusiasm of His service, and evil things will lose their power. May my body be the servant of my soul, and may both body and soul by Your servants. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Group Hooray Activity • Directions: Teacher will pick some papers from students’

3 – 2 – 1 Activity. Pose the questions to the whole class. The first group to be called should make three claps and shout “HORRAY”. They have to gather three sticks of right answers to have group happy gram.

• Sixth and ninth commandments have something to do one’s purity of sexuality and especially they reinforce the greatness and responsibilities given to all married couples, our parents.

• Open Forum:• Students will ask questions to the

reporters. During this moment, teacher can also pose questions about important ideas that the group discussed a little or forget.

What is the Sixth Commandment?• You shall not commit adultery - God is love and He lives in the personal loving

communion. God called us into VOCATION of having the capacity of love and communion. Man and woman were given with the gifts of capacity to love and procreate. They are called for forming bonds of communion with others

(cf. CCC 2331 - 2332).

You shall not commit adultery• This communion of man and woman is

blessed and strengthened in the Sacrament of Marriage which is living out

God’s generosity and fruitfulness. This commandment protects the unity and

holiness of marriage and family from the hurt and destructions that are caused by

infidelity of husband or wife and the breakup of the family.

Why do the sixth and ninth commandments have to do with our sexuality?

• Sexuality is today understood in a more integral sense than in the past when the focus was almost completely on the sex act. Today sexuality signifies being a man or a woman in relationship with others. Sexuality affects all aspects of human person in unity of his body and soul (cf. CCC 2332)

Why do the sixth and ninth commandments have to do with our sexuality?

• Sexuality is the very expression in words, language, gestures, and behavior of persons as man and woman. Therefore it is a gift given by God. We may feel uneasy and even embarrass when we are called sexual beings/persons. The reason is we do not know the difference between sexuality and the sex act itself. Sex act is only a physical aspect of our sexuality. God gave the sexuality to us as gift for friendship and relationship in faithfulness and love, and the deepest of which is the Sacrament of Matrimony.

How do we follow the 6th and 9th Commandments?

• Learning to be loyal and respectful:• not joining others who are gossiping about

someone.• keeping secrets shared by a friend and not

readily believe bad things we hear about our friends.

• We should develop these traits for they will help us when we grow up. Husband and wife too should be loyal and

respectful to each other for these traits help their marriage successful and meaningful.

How do we follow the 6th and 9th Commandments?

• Keeping our dignity through:

• Respecting our bodies by not making fun of your body and other’s body as well.

• Wearing decent clothes not the revealing or daring types.

  We should preserve our body’s dignity for we are created in God’s image.

How do we follow the 6th and 9th Commandments?

Keeping our minds and senses healthy:• making ourselves busy with god works• reading only good books and magazines• seeing only decent movies and TV shows• keeping our minds free from dirty, selfish, lustful thoughts• choosing only decent boys and girls as our friend and

companion• avoiding places that offer temptations to make sins

against our sexuality•  

What did Jesus teaches us about the sixth and ninth commandments?

• “You have heard that it was said, “you shall not commit adultery.” But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart (Matthew 5: 27 – 28)”.

What did Jesus teaches us about the sixth and ninth commandments?

• Thus Jesus is calling us to be chaste through modesty and being decent towards others. We must put our sexual feelings and emotions according to what is GOOD, TRUE, and DECENT through our words and deeds.

We Pray to God

• Mary, Mother most pure, and Joseph, chaste guardian of the Virgin, to you I entrust the purity of my soul and body. I beg you to plead with God for me that I may never for the remainder of my life soil my soul by any sin of impurity. I earnestly wish to be pure in thought, word and deed in imitation of your own holy purity. Obtain for me a deep sense of modesty, which will be reflected in my external conduct. Protect my eyes, the windows of my soul, from anything that might dim the luster of a heart that must mirror only Christ-like purity. And when the “Bread of Angels” becomes my food in Holy Communion, seal my heart forever against the suggestions of sinful pleasures. Finally, may I be among the number of those of whom Jesus spoke, “Blessed are the pure of heart for they shall see God.” Amen.
