The French-made Goupil G3 electric utility vehicle’s configuration of a leaf collector, powered by a

2,000W motor with a turbine rotation speed of 3,000 rpm, effortlessly sucks up fallen leaves and other

debris on the road, as well as from the ditches that run alongside.

The Goupil G3 takes 8 hours to charge fully (overnight charging) and provides the range to cover up

to 100 km.

It well replaces a team of 4 human sweepers and shortens the cleaning of the entire stretch of Mandai

Lake Road (which is required by NPB/NEA to be cleaned everyday) from 3 hours to under an hour.

OXE Diesel Outboard Engine makes waves at the 4th Ship Technology 2017

Tractors Singapore Limited (TSL), the exclusive distributor for OXE Diesel Outboard Engine in

Southeast Asia and the Maldives, showcased the OXE in the 4th Ship Technology Exhibition at the

Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall (PEACH) from 15-17 November 2017.

we can identify opportunities to grow and build

our own future given our strong branding.”

Apart from TSL’s Management Team and

On 27 October 2017, the "Blue Sea No.

8"equipped with OXE, took part in the Hong

Kong Oil Pollution Control Joint Exercise 2017

in the waters around Lamma Island, and

undertook hauling oil pollution control

equipment to shore, connecting the oil pollution

prevention belts, spraying the chemicals and

other tasks for more than 5 hours.

The owner is highly satisfied with the

performance of OXE Diesel Outboard Engine

during this exercise. It is looking at equipping

more of its commercial workboats with OXE

Diesel Outboard Engines in the near future.Sea trial was conducted on 25 October 2017,

achieving a maximum speed of 24 knots.

In preparation of the future Bird Park site when it

eventually relocates from Jurong, the rental of

the Goupil G3 electric utility vehicle turned into a

purchase after only three months when the

construction site switched hands as the project

entered the next stage.

The contractor who took over the site

determined it was more economical to own

rather than rent, the Goupil G3.

He had already witnessed for himself how the previous contractor was able to effectively clean the

road leading to the construction site, the same road that leads to the renowned tourist spot – the

Singapore Zoological Gardens with minimum manpower requirement.

Hong Kong-based, Kai Fat Oil Pollution Response Limited (Kai Fat) is the proud owner of the

first OXE Diesel Outboard Engine in China. OXE Diesel Outboard Engine was launched in late

2016 in China, in a joint effort by its principal, Cimco Marine AB and its authorized dealer for

China, the China Engineers, Ltd (CEL). OXE is the world’s first 200 HP high performance

diesel outboard engine, setting new standards for durability, fuel-efficiency and low emissions.

The OXE Diesel Outboard Engine fulfills the NATO “single-fuel” directive, and is designed for

commercial customers such as fishing, oil and gas, search and rescue, coast guard, and

military applications.

Swedish company, Cimco Marine AB (Cimco), is the developer and manufacturer behind the

patented outboard, and also the first engine manufacturer to design an outboard engine

suitable for a wide range of industries. It introduced the engine to the global market during

Summer 2016 and has developed numerous dealers and end-user customers worldwide. It

has gained much traction in countries like United States, the United Kingdom, Norway,

Malaysia and of late, China.

Let's take a look at the background of Kai Fat Oil Pollution Response Limited

Overview: An operation contractor of the oil pollution control group under the Marine

Department of the Hong Kong Government

Main business: Assists the Marine Department in managing accidental oil pollution mishaps.

Reason for replacing the existing with an OXE outboard engine: A 7.5-meter work boat "Blue

Sea No. 8" was originally equipped with a 150-horsepower gasoline outboard engine.

However, in 2016, the Marine Department of Hong Kong banned all commercial vessels from

storing inflammable fuel on board, including commercial work boats equipped with light-duty

outboard engine. Under this circumstance, Kai Fat decided to purchase an OXE 200-

horsepower diesel outboard engine to replace the existing gasoline outboard engine.

In fact, as a green and environmentally-friendly advocate, Kai Fat was already on the lookout

for such a unit and had contacted Cimco in Sweden when it learnt of the latter’s development

of a fuel-efficient diesel outboard.

The Hong Kong Government’s ultimatum added to the urgency to change. OXE was

successfully launched into the market by CEL and Kai Fat was willing to be amongst the first

batch of formal users of OXE in China.

CEL completed the delivery, installation and commissioning of the OXE Diesel Outboard

Engine in October 2017. A sea trial was conducted on 25 October 2017 in Hong Kong waters.

During the sea trial, the work boat reached an engine speed of 4350rpm on full throttle,

achieving a maximum sailing speed of 24knots.
