Hutt Station Sale Complex. The venue and location of our sale (map at back of catalogue) is ideal and after much hard work getting it ready we held our first sale there last year, with much positive feedback.

With venison stable around the $7 - $8 range and velvet very strong at $110 - $120/kg this year, along with increasingly good strong demand for Trophy Stags from the Trophy Hunters, the deer industry is vibrant and looks better than it has for a long while.

Bearing this in mind, now is the time to invest in leading proven genetics for performance to capitalise on a positive industry.

Our deer are now ranking among the best in the world, with many clients commenting that our deer shift well and continue to perform as they are fed and run very commercially.

CONDITIONS OF SALE1. The sale will be conducted by CRT and Rural Livestock, according to their

usual terms and conditions.

2. Deer will be offered in lots (subject to final draft) as catalogued.

3. Each lot shall become the property and the responsibility of the Purchaser on the fall of the hammer.

4. Terms strictly CASH, unless arranged with auctioneers.

5. Insurance will be available on the day by request to cover your requirements. We recommend you insure your deer.

6. Delivery dockets must be signed for, giving explicit transport, velveting and any insurance instructions to our clerks.

7. Purchasing commission of 4 % will be paid by arrangement with the Auctioneers prior to the sale to approved non-participating companies and recognized independent agents.

8. Unless otherwise agreed, all animals are to be uplifted from Sale Venue within 10 days of the sale please. Grazing adjustment will accrue at $10 per week from 17th, January, 2014. (Any buyers wanting heads grown out must arrange grazing and details directly with the owner please - not through selling agents.)

9. All deer held for Purchasers on the property will be held at the Purchaser’s risk.

10. Unless otherwise requested, velveting prior to delivery will be arranged by the vendor at the purchaser’s risk. All velvet remains the property of the vendor.

Purchased at Foveran Park’s 2011 Stag Sale, as he had such a massive attractive head. We have used ROBBY-BOY as a sire as he has a lot to offer for Trophy Genetics, with his impressive multi-pointed antler. At 7 yrs he grew a head that dwarfs last years head scoring 703 5/8 IOA, 60 points. This stag has the “WOW” factor and impresses all.

KINGSLEY is a big quiet stag with very thick multipointed head with width giving a “WOW” factor like his sire KINGSTON (535 7/8 SCI, 17.2 kg HA dried @ 6 yrs).Grand dam 900 is a full sister to KANE, HECTOR and DR. JOHN. KANE at 5 yrs had 50 points with 544 IOA. HECTOR had 603 IOA @ 9 yrs. KINGSLEY was purchased off Mike Dempsey for $25,000 and is new exciting blood for our herd, adding length of antler beam and width into our existing bloodlines. CRAYFISH was purchased off Tom Cruse to add new blood into our herd with massive velvet and the ultimate trophy. Originally Tom Cruse had purchased Crayfish off Foveran Deer Park as a 2 year old. Unfortunately, Crayfish got badly lame being transported, resulting in him losing his toes on a fore and hind limb, despite intensive veterinary care, impacting on his future velvet production. His progeny are exceeding our expectations, with exciting results.

We purchased this awesome new sire from Pelorus Deer Stud in January 2009. He is the very best Bill Oliver’s AUSTIN son I have ever seen out of a KINGSTON’S dam. On sale day he had an inside span of over 30 inches, with 25 points and a conservative estimate of 370 SCI. He adds a new dimension for antler mass and trophy in our herd. His sons are following in his footsteps with outstanding performance.

REDWOOD was purchased from Stanfields 2009 Sire Stag sale for top price of $40,000. His 2 year SCI score was estimated at 320 as a piece was broken off. He has a very wide outside spread of 47 inches. He also has a very relaxed and quiet temperament. His sons are coming through with phenomenal multi-pointed heads, while maintaining width and length.

MEGASTAR is a new Pure Woburn stag with special breeding that doesn’t come along often. MEGASTAR was Lot 1 in our 2011 Stag Sale and grew a phenomenal 434 IOA with 48 points at just 2 yrs old. He did not meet reserve price, so was retained for a Sire. This was a good move as MEGASTAR has continued to have star performance with him cutting 12.1 kg SAV @ 5 yrs.

COMMANDER PEEL, owned by Peel Forest Estate, has an impressive pedigree with CHANCELLOR PEEL/JAMIESON and ADONIS. CHANCELLOR PEEL is also the sire of SALVADOR (575 IOA @ 5 yrs) and ODYSSEUS (IOA 603 @ 6yrs) which confirms the heritability of this mix. HUNERIC DG, (owned by (Deer Genetics NZ) is a champion stag. He grew an outstanding 501 IOA at 3 yrs, and was the National Hard Antler Champion 2009 @ 2 yrs. He was 4th place in the National Hard Antler Awards 2010. He had a very long open head which is non typical with drop tynes on each side, and super huge 12 inch bases @ 3 yrs, and long 41 inch main beam.
