The Worthy Ma- tron, Mrs. Inez Strickland, opened the meeting regular form. The flags were presented, pledges given and praises sung. The chapter was honored to have distinguished guest, Mr. Sam Par- ker. District Deputy Grand Patron, and Mrs. Sam Parker, Worthy Ma- tron of Long Leaf Pitje Chapter in Fayetteville. Minutes were read for approval by Mrs. Sarah Wilson secretary. Treasurer's report was given by Mrs. Louise Alabaster. Mrs. Strickland announced the following installing officers for the installation service to be held March 24: Mrs. Maude Foy of Kinston: Mrs. Helen Rimmer of Sanford: Mrs. Fannie Odum of Mount Olive, and Mrs. T. Paul Strickland, Mr. Hugh Prince and Mrs. Thad Pope of Dunn. Bills and communications were read by the secretary. Committee reports were given by Miss Lillian Draughon. Mrs. Thetus Duncan and Mrs. Lib Chestnut. Miss Lillian Draughon and her committee were given a rising vote of thanks for the splendid work they have accomplished on thje Home committee. The initiation was conducted in a beautiful and im- pressive manner. The chapter room was beautifully decorated for the occasion by Mrs. Mamie Snipes and Mrs. Ruth Temple. Scavenger Hunt Given By Circle For Youth Group j The members of |he Baptist Youth ! Auxiliary were entertained Friday | night at 7:30 at a party planed j by the Cornelia Levell circle which | sponsors them. This circle is led by Mrs. J. M. Dawson. The party j was given as a conclusion to the , annuaf Focus Week. I The group gathered at. the church first and received their direct’ons I for a scavenger hunt. Miss Sylvia 1 Edwards and Bobby Wells totaled the most points in this contest which lasted for thirty minutes. They were presented a box of choc- olate Easter eggs. The runners-up i received candy canes. After the hunt refreshments were served, consisting of potato chips, brownies, ham and pimento cheese ! sandwiches, cookies, and cold drinks. The women assisting with the arrangements were Mrs. J. M. Daw- son. Mrs. M. B. Bales, Mrs. Earl Hawley, and Mrs. James Hawley.
