The design brief given to the engi­neers at OKA Motor Company Ltd. was to develop a tough, safe and reliable, heavy duty 4 wheel drive using proven internationally recognised components

OKA Motor Company Limited was incorporated in August 1985 and listed publically with the Australian Stock Exchange in November 1994. The Company dedicated five years to the development of the OKA 4WD vehicle range and went into produc­tion in 1992. A comprehensive market survey was initiated by OKA and the results were used to establish the parameters of the OKA design.

The Staff at OKA Motor Company Ltd. are a dedicated team of pro­fessionals who pride themselves on fine workmanship. OKA uses a combination of state of the art technology in the form of computer aided design coupled with tried and tested traditional manufacturing techniques.

The Product The OKA is a forward control vehicle with exceptional off road capabilities. The cabin is manufactured from high grade Australian Steel and designed to meet the require­ments of The Australian Standard 1636-1984 roll over protection structure for wheeled tractors (R.O.P.S.). This makes the OKA the only production vehicle in Australian and to our knowledge, the world, with this level of protection. The layout of the cabin is efficient and user

friendly and there is enough head room for the driver to wear a hard hat.

The ladder frame chassis is rigid, with straight parallel rails providing a flat bed for easy mounting of non standard implements. This fea­ture makes the OKA attractive to operators using specialised equipment on their vehicle fleets. Pre-driMed attachment faces are provided on the chassis rails, and provision has been made for interchanging a number of factory fitted options. To complement the rigid chassis, a long travel, high ride quality suspension has been designed to make the OKA suitable for use as mini coach­es, ambulance vehicles, and other personnel transporters.

OKA Single Cab The OKA 4 x 4 single cab has been designed to allow maximum flexibility for a number of applications. The massive flat chassis area means ease of fitment of specific equipment. As a fire fighter, crop sprayer or a general purpose utility, the OKA single cab with seating for two and a payload of up to 2.5 tonnes is the smart choice. Not only can the OKA carry the load, it can get it to where no others can.

OKA Dual Cab The OKA 4WD Dual Cab provides seating for up to 6 personnel in comfort and safety, without compromising pay-load capacity and cargo area. The ergonomic design of the Dual Cab interior makes it the perfect vehicle to trans­port crew and equipment to those out of the way locations. The huge range of optional equipment means an OKA Dual Cab can be set up to meet any individual specific requirements.

OKA Multi Cab The research team at OKA identified a niche in the off road transport market, not filled by any other product. The Multi Cab fills this need by offering the unique advantage of seating for up to nine personnel, with a variety of seating options and a usable flat chassis area. OKA Multi Purpose Van The rugged construction of the OKA van body provides excellent protection for valuable cargo. The use of flat pan­els and a simple framework allow the base van to be adapted to may different applications from campervans to outside broadcast units, to long range patrol vehicles. The OKA van is truly versatile.

Buses OKA caters to every market need with a full range of 4WD Buses from the no frills standard, "Minesite" style bus, to the fully set up long range tour coach.
