Pop-Upheißt das 28-köpfige Vokalensemble der Hochschule für Musik Detmold. Vokale Arrange-ments von Popsongs, Jazzstandards, Gospels und Songwritertiteln bilden das Repertoire der Gruppe, deren Mitglieder in den Studiengängen Schulmusik, Dirigieren, Gesang, Musikübertragung und Musikpädagogik studieren.

Pop-Up hat Spaß an Rhythmus, vokalen Klanglandschaften und farbigen Harmonien. Im Zentrum der Arbeit stehen das Interesse an spannenden Arrangements, die Suche nach dem homogenen Chorklang und die Lust am musikalischen Miteinander.

Pop-Up wurde 2010 von seiner Leiterin Anne Kohler gegründet und gewann 2012 den Förderpreis „Junge Kunst“ der Volksbank Paderborn-Höxter-Detmold. Das En semble nahm 2013 an der Voc.Cologne und dem Aarhus Vocal Festival (DK) teil und sang im Juni 2014 als Background-Chor der Rolling Stones in der Düsseldorfer ESPRIT Arena vor 50.000 Zuhörern.

Im Jahr 2017 gewann Pop-Up den 1. Preis im Internationalen Kammerchorwett-bewerb in Marktoberdorf und im Landeschorwettbewerb NRW. „Sing to the Moon“ ist nach „Rest your Head“ und „Luminous“ die dritte CD von Pop-Up.

studierte Schulmusik in Hamburg sowie Dirigieren und Gesang in Karls ruhe. Ihre Ausbildung vertiefte sie durch den Besuch von Meisterkursen bei Eric Ericsson, Frie-der Bernius, Volker Hempfling, Tonu Kaljuste und Maria Guinand. Workshops bei der „Real Group“ (S), Jens Johansen (vocal line DK) und Thierry Lalo (F) sowie die Zusammen arbeit mit den Arrangeuren Oliver Gies und Martin Carbow gaben ihrer Arbeit entscheidende Impulse.

Als Leiterin für Kurse und Workshops zu den Themen Dirigieren, Stimmbildung und Jazzchorleitung sowie als Jurorin ist sie international tätig.

Seit 2009 ist Anne Kohler Professorin für Chorleitung an der Hochschule für Musik Detmold. Dort leitet sie den in internationalen Wettbewerben ausgezeichneten Kam-merchor der Hochschule und gründete das Vokalensemble „Pop-Up“.
