We cannot avoid receiving bad news, and what makes it so hard sometimes is when you cannot even react

“natural” about it.   Acting naturally includes, you frown, you get sad, sometimes you even cry or get mad,

but the hardest part is when you do not know how to release your feelings or emotions towards what

you have just heard.

You might even find it hard saying a prayer, and more often than not, you want to talk to a friend or relative about it but you just don’t know how to start it.

Releasing your tensions, emotions or bad feelings is one means of avoiding being stressed and what exercise you think could be the softest thing to do this?  You can sing it out loud!

Yes! Singing is one of the best alternatives in releasing your “heavy heart”—burdened heart.  Especially when the lyrics of the song help you express what is within you, definitely this will guide you in letting go of your emotions.  This will help work out your jaw and quietly relaxes you.

Some people can’t help it, but they even cry while singing because they can relate from the piece they are singing and if this also actually happened to you, doesn’t it suddenly soothe your spirit?  Doesn’t it make you feel good?  And yes, without noticing it, after singing few songs you will feel so light! You will start smiling and afterwards, you will initiate cracking a few jokes already!

Because you have been freed from the tension and sooner it will be comfortable for you to talk about what you throw in your “heavy heart” to make it clear.

This is the reason why some people sometimes suddenly turn on their karaoke player and play their favorite songs. Be it a sentimental song or a rock one, it helps you relax.

Some even fit to the nearest karaoke bar when upset, to sing it out loud!  At that point, you can take any song that has lyrics almost the same with what you are experiencing right at that instant.

Instead of drinking a bunch of alcohol, you can get high with singing.  Why? Because in singing, you can get excited and thus gets into your spirit to go eminent.

In TIME Ideas, author Stacy Horn mentioned in her article written last August 16, 2013 under Life & Style entitled singing changes your brain wherein group  singing has been scientifically proven to lower stress, relieve anxiety, and elevate endorphins  and that “when you sing, musical vibrations move through you, altering your physical and emotional landscape.”

Horn stated “singing is like an infusion of the perfect tranquilizer, the kind that both soothes your nerves

and elevates your spirits.”  She added that a very preliminary investigation, suggesting that our heart rates may sync up during the group singing could also explain

why singing together, sometimes feels like a guided group meditation” and “study after study has found that singing relieves anxiety and contributes to quality of

life”.
