    Executive Summary

    Job openings increase nationwide.In July, nationwide job openings increased by 1.8%

    month-over-month and 22.5% year-over-year.

    Nationwide, job openings increased in 40 of the top

    50 metro areas. July saw growth in the number of

    job openings in major metro areas across the

    growth over last year, said James Beriker,

    president and CEO of Simply Hired. We continue

    to see industries like healthcare actively seeking

    candidates, as well as growth in transportation and

    real estate. As we move closer to fall, there are

    than there were 12 months ago, which is fantastic

    news for anyone looking to make a change.

    Job openings increase in 80% of major metro

    areas.

    Job openings increased in 40 out of 50 (80%) major

    metros in July. Norfolk, VA (10.3%), Greenville, SC

    (7.4%), Oklahoma City, OK (5.1%) and Indianapolis,

    IN (4.3%) experienced the largest gains month-

    over-month.

    Job openings increase in one-third of all industries.Job openings increased in 6 out of 18 industries in July.

    The largest gains were seen in transportation (26.1%) and

    saw the largest decreases during this period. More than

    three-quarters of occupation categories (18 out of 23)

    experienced growth in job openings in July. Transportation

    (22.2%) and personal care (11.0%) experienced the largest

    amount of growth month-over-month.

    Healthcare remains industry with most job postings.

    Healthcare was the top posting industry during July.

    Around one-third of the top posting companies in July

    were healthcare-related (approximately 40 company

    locations), making healthcare the industry with the most

    job openings. Service sector jobs such as banking and food

    Real estate making a comeback. With talk of interest rates increasing, real estateis again a hot industry. In July, job listings in the real estate industry grew by 7.6
