Simplicity in weldingfor industrial solutions.

Where other joining techniques reach their limits, we start.

THE CLASSICAL PROBLEM AREAS WHEN JOININGHigh and long-lasting heat effects during conventional TIG welding, soldering or other classical joining techniques cause stress on the workpiece. This manifests itself in the form of thermal distortion, undesirable color variations or micro- structural changes in the metal grid with negative deviations of the electrical and physical properties, even the destruction of temperature-sensitive components or electronic components in the immediate vicinity.

THE PUK TECHNIQUE SOLVES THESE PROBLEMS - INGENIOUS AND UNIQUEThe PUK technique is based on the micro-impulse method, in which the arc is ignited electronically. The energy concentra-tion acts under argon protective gas atmosphere with a special non-consumable tungsten electrode in the millisecond range only selectively and concentrated on the welding spot. The solution of the classical problems in joining technology, whether at stapling tasks or preparing longer welding seams of all geometries.

COMPACT AND VERSATILE TIG PULSE PRECISION WELDERFor all joining tasks in the industrial production, in the electronics department, in the R&D lab, in the repair shop or in mobile applications directly at the customer‘s location, when precision, reliability and controllability is mandatory - e.g. in the area of quick repair, prototyping or automated batch processes - the PUK solves your joining task, and that with all weldable materials e.g. stainless steel, Hastelloy, Invar, Inconel, Permalloy, MU-metals, titanium, copper, platinum, gold and silver and partially aluminum with material thicknesses even below 0.2 mm as wire, metal sheet or various materi-al-mixes. Thus, all common types of metal and welding geometries in the sectors of medical technology, vacuum technology, electronics, sensor technology, food industry, boiler construction, chemical industry, etc. are addressed.

SIMPLICITY - NOT ONLY FOR WELDING PROFESSIONALS With the PUK, users are able to achieve desired welding results with the mentioned materials without in-depth knowledge of metallurgy. The PUK takes control of the suitable welding parameters for perfect results. As soon as the electrode tip of the handpiece touches the workpiece, the welding process starts automatically. The protective gas argon forms a protective gas atmosphere above the welding spot and prevents interfering influences from the outside. The specially tailored and shaped current pulse ignites the arc and creates a controlled melting of the metal - as frequently and precisely as desired.

CONTROLLER #830-1638The versatile controller with touch screen offers a variety of welding settings. Micro Mode for welding thicknesses below 0.2mm on wires and sheets. Speed Mode increases the weld pulse frequency for faster results. Resistance Mode in conjunction with the copper contact ground for tack welding applications. Pre-Selection Settings for a wide variety of welding metals and alloys such as stainless steel, Hastelloy, various precious metals, titanium and much more!

The controller package includes: PUK handpiece, 0.6mm and 0.8mm electrodes and collets, diamond wheel, contact clamp, and 3 meter gas hose (not shown).

SMG5 MICROSCOPE #830-1538The high-quality microscope with 10X magnification. Eye protection system with integrated LED lighting and four adjustable brightness levels support the optimum illumination of the working area. The hydraulic articulated arm can be rotated and swiveled in all directions

SM5.1 MICROSCOPE #830-1557This high-quality microscope with 10X magnification. Eye protection system with integrated LED lighting and four adjustable brightness levels offers optimum illumination of the working area. Padded hand supports simplify the guidance of the work piece for fatigue free and ergonomic working.

ARGON GAS REGULATOR #830-1516The PUK flow regulator enables the exact setting of the recommended 2 liters per minute flow rate. It's precise and easy but above all, it’s reliable! The argon gas allows for clean, oxidation free welds.

ELECTRODE SETS 0.6mm electrode #830-1499, 0.8mm electrode #830-0934 10 pre-sharpened electrodes for immediate use. The thin electrode increases precision by touching the exact spot of weld. Just prior to weld, the electrode pulls back into the handpiece allowing for a clean and precise weld spot.

ELECTRODE SHARPENER #830-1528For simple and rapid sharpening of PUK electrodes. The diamond disc rotates when the button is pressed allowing for quick and convenient electrode sharpening. The unit plugs into the back of the machine. Replacement Diamond Wheel for Electrode Sharpener. See video on gesswein.com for instructions.

SAMPLE APPLICATIONSThe following examples of use are showing only a small scope of the vast range of possibilities and fields of application for utilizing a PUK welder. The PUK shows its full performance e.g. when welding on thin sheet metal or joining delicate wires of different material compositions (e.g. thermocouples), even on material thicknesses below 0.2 mm, and it is possible to weld adjacent to heat-sensitive components. The PUK can be used just for stapling prior to further processing but also for a speedy final assembly with ease, achieving a reliable connection.
