Theme or focus of images All of these photographs have been taken in various places in London, UK. They have also been taken at different times of day to capture their best times. The theme is obviously landmarks in London.

CompositionSimon Kennedy is a London based photographer, whose work has been exhibited and published widely, as well as working with clients such as the BBC and many

architectural companies. Image 1 seems to be taken from quite high up and is very detailed. You can make out what everything is in the background and the image is very sharp, both in the background and the foreground. Image 2 is captured from on the ground and looking up at the building. This gives the building a taller look and makes it look more dominating because of the angle it is taken at and how high that angle makes the building look. Image 3 is taken from head height and like image 1, is incredibly detailed, even in the background and in smaller places. Image 4 is hard to determine whether it was taken from halfway up the landmark or from head height as some of the picture is cropped out, whereas if it wasn’t, we would be able to establish the position it was taken. I would say it was taken from halfway up the building. The lighting of the buildings in the first and third photos draws your attention to the image because they are bright. The colours of the buildings go well with the colours of the background and make the buildings stand out more. All of the images are very sharp and detailed, which I think makes the buildings stand out a lot more, rather than using something different like depth of field in the background.

Techniques usedAll of these images appear to be tripod mounted. They are all very detailed, even in the smaller areas in the background, so there would be a high f stop. Between 2-8 seconds would be the estimated guess. Also there would be a high shutter speed of roughly 1/125th.

Strengths & WeaknessesI like the way he has captured the landmarks each at a different time of day to get them at their best times. The positioning of each photo is good and varied.I like how sharp and detailed each image is.
