Our band ‘wonderland’ has a genre of indie rock. Throughout this presentation I will be noting what the different existing covers have in common and how they

will influence, out future designs.

The Strokes The Strokes This first album cover consists of a very structural layout. This idea would link well with our music video concept because the layout of the squares will link well with the dolls house structure. The contrasting colours of black, red and yellow, work effectively together, and I like how the title of the band has been shown on a black background.

This second image, shows a distortion of the band name, the use of square cut out letter is also used, to hide the face. We could do a similar thing, but using the words ‘wonderland’ and the cut out letter with backgrounds of similar dolls house wall paper. Also instead of using letters we could use a mixture of normal furniture or cardboard furniture.

The Death Cab for CutieThe Death Cab for CutieThis low to high angle photo of an apartment block portrays the idea of the dolls house. The use of calm neutral colours is effective and would link well with the use of cardboard throughout the music video.

I like the idea of having the front of the album cover, covered in old photo films, of different shots and memories from the bed, inside the dolls house and the couples relationship. The old photo frame conveys a old feel to the concept, which is true in that we are using a dolls house and now a days young children don’t use dolls houses.

The WombatsThe Wombats

The image to the right reminds me of Polaroid picture. I feel that I would be effective to take several picture of inside the dolls house and with the actors using a polaroid camera.

A similar thing to this could be used by using a polaroid camera, with the normal furniture and the cardboard furniture.

This image could be a possible idea for the back of the CD cover. This picture is also been taken from the wombats Album. I like this idea because it links with the dolls house and the trapped perfect world, However this image shows that it is not perfect because of the messy run down loook.

This image inspired me to think about have the inside of the dolls house in the background and then the track names over the top, like shown on the right.

Mumford and SonsMumford and SonsAlthough Mumford and sons isn't part of the indie rock, this album cover portrays a very strong image. I like the fact that the band are positioned on the inside of a shop on a street. I also like how you can see the other shops and apartments in the shot. The fact that they are behind the shop window suggests they are being trapped. This feeling is also conveyed through out music video concept though using the dolls house.

This idea is unique, on the front cover there could be lots of cupboards and in some cupboards there is the male of female actor and in other normal furniture and cardboard furniture.
