PROTEIN BASED

PKE Palm Kernel Expeller (PKE) is a by-product of the palm oil extraction process from the fruit of the palm, (2mm PKE available at some locations.)

DDGS – WHEAT (NON GM) & CORNDried Distillers Grains (DDGS) is a mid-protein feed with relatively high energy levels. DDGS is the dried residue remaining after grain starches have been fermented in the process of producing bio ethanol, in combination with yeasts and enzymes. A course dark coloured free flowing granular powder with a pleasant fermented odour which cows enjoy.

CANOLA MEALCanola Meal (CM) is a high protein dairy feed containing approximately 36.5% crude protein. Canola Meal is a by-product from the extraction of oil for human consumption and has a strong reputation of enhancing appetites and improving production in lactating cows.

STARCH BASED

FGO PELLETFeed Grade Oat Pellet (FGO) is made from oats and offers high energy and starch levels in a concentrated, pelleted form, combined with good levels of protein, ensuring the FGO Pellet is suitable for a range of applications throughout the year, either in blends or on its own. (Non GM)

OHP PELLETOat Hull Pellet (OHP) is a low cost pelletised feed which offers medium starch, protein and energy levels. OHP is a cost effective source of getting key nutrients into most rations fed on farm (Non GM)

KIBBLED MAIZE Kibbled Maize (KM) is a locally grown, energy dense, high starch feed which can be fed on its own or as part of a blend. (Non GM)

TAPIOCA PELLET Tapioca Pellet is a rapidly digestible starch source containing little protein and medium levels of energy. Due to its rapid rate of digestibility, Tapioca must be fed in controlled feeding environments at relatively low percentages and as such is ideally suited for inclusion in blended feeds.

ADDING PELLETS TO BLENDSAdding a portion of pelleted feeds to dairy blends can aid with the flowability of the blend, help to reduce dust and improve flowability. An added benefit of including pelleted grains to blended feeds is that the heat treatment process causes gelatinisation of the starches, making the surface area of the starch more available to digestive solvents and enzymes in the rumen, as well as to the rumen microbes. In turn this helps to improve feed digestibility and feed conversion.

LIME Lime is an essential part of the dairy cows diet and is particularly important post calving when the calcium aids in the prevention of milk fever.

MAGNESIUM OXIDEMagnesium plays an important role in milk fever prevention (calcium defi ciency).

MONENSINMonensin has been shown to have a positive effect within the cow’s rumen with claims it can aid in the prevention of bloat and increase the protein fraction of milk produced, as well as helping to improve feed conversion effi ciency, therefore economically generating more milk per mouthful of feed. Research shows 5-7% more energy is utilised from feed by cows treated with monensin.

SALTThe sodium in salt is essential for muscle, nerve and immune system function, sound reproductive health, and improved coat conditions.

RUMEN BUFFERSRumen buffers help to stabilise the pH of the rumen enhancing digestibility and feed conversion.

MP400MP400 is a cost effective, pelleted source of sodium, calcium, magnesium and Bovatec, offering a power packed pelleted feed additive. Unique to GrainCorp Feeds.

SUPER SP100Super 100 (bypass fat) is a highly concentrated source of readily available energy, developed to easily and effi ciently increase energy levels in the animals diet. Ideal for periods during which the cow is unable to consume suffi cient energy to meet demands.

ZINCA range of zinc products are available including Zinc Oxide, Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate and Zinc Sulphate Heptahydrate which can be added as and when required.

TOXIN BINDERSFusion® Dyad (Mycotoxin Binder) has been proven to minimise the negative effects associated with Grass Staggers so is ideal to add to the cow’s diet during summer when Mycotoxins, particularly in older ryegrass maybe present.

YEASTSYeasts are used to improve the overall health and function of the rumen by creating an environment which helps improve the number of food digesting bacteria, creating a more stable rumen pH and helping to improve feed conversion and digestion (e.g. Levucell SC).

VITAMINS & MINERALS GrainCorp Feeds has access to a wide range of trace mineral packages which can include Zinc, Copper, Manganese, Cobalt, Chromium, Selenium and Iodine. Trace Mineral packages can be tailored to individual herd requirements.
