Awarded for Quality Assurance: ‘Silver Charter Mark’ & ‘Bronze Quality In Support Study’ ‘Improving the Quality of Life in Northamptonshire’
Dear Member,
As a result of the very hard work done by children, young people,
volunteers and staff, we are delighted to announce that SCCYC has been awarded the
‘Silver Charter Mark’ by Northamptonshire County Council’s ‘Children & Young
Peoples Services’! The award is in recognition of involving children & young people
effectively in the Youth Club and providing them with quality services. Well done to
everyone involved in this great accomplishment!
This summer saw over 45 youngsters take part in a host of heritage, educational and
fun activities. A Special Summer Club Newsletter will be published in the New Year!
The Carnival Workshops resulted in the club gaining ’Runner-Up for the most
creative Safari themed float’! The youth club have also been very pro-active in plan-
ning new services such as a football club, outings, careers workshops as well as
getting involved in their ‘Punjabi Pride’ heritage project. We would like to invite you
to a free Punjabi Heritage Diwali Event at Northampton Museum on Saturday 2nd
November for a taster of Punjabi culture by young people from SCCYC & NMAG.
The ‘Womens Empowerment Project’ is also gathering speed with a host of
creative, wellbeing and educational activities on offer at a Women’s Open Evening on
Sunday 10th November, 11am to 4pm at SGSS Gurdwara/SCCYC, come along!
Have a Happy Diwali-Bandi Chhor Deevas!

a five-a-side football tournament on 22nd September and raised a large amount of funds for the
Community Building Project! Thank you for your continued support!

London to raise funds for ‘Cancer Research’ and thank you to everyone that supported the cause!
SCCYC GAINED ‘RUNNER UP’ AT NORTHAMPTON CARNVIAL! Once again,
the youth club promoted Punjabi culture at the colourful Northampton Carnival and even
gained ‘runner-up for the most creative safari themed float!’. Well done to all of the
volunteers and participants for this achievement.
