Sorting By Location Symbols

SignWriting can be sorted by detailed Location Symbols that are not actually written in the signs themselves. The markers show precise location of contact on the body, or precise location in space.

Height-Width-Depth Location

Height, width and depth can be marked in SignSpellings, by placing the Location Symbols for each Syllable, at the end of each Syllable.

Syllables are the beginning, middle and ends of a sign. All of the symbols inside one Syllable are done at the same time. So the Location Symbols are marking that syllables' position in space.

In the diagram on the next page, height, width and depth are marked with three combined symbols. In the diagram be-low, depth is marked with Floor Plane Location Symbols.Height-Width-Depth Symbols are listed at the end of this section.
