The Phi Chapter of Sigma Sigma Phi at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine is in its sixth year of existence. The members of this chapter are actively involved on campus and in the community. We are committed to growing this chapter and the National Organization.

As a newer school, we are very excited to have just graduated our second class and having members accepted to the Grand Chapter.

Students must have achieved a 3.0 GPA and have demonstrated exceptional dedication to service in order to be selected to the Phi Chapter

Applications will be offered to all students who have achieved at least a 3.0 GPA

Applicants are awarded points for activities, community service and leadership.

Blind rankings according to the points earnedDecision will be made as to the number of

candidates that we will be able to accept for induction into the Phi Chapter.

Invitations are extended to these individualsWe have created two initiation committees to

assist in the selection process.

Harrogate Senior Center Blood Pressure Screenings The Phi Chapter sponsors blood pressure checks every

Monday and Wednesday at the Harrogate Senior Center. With this project we hope to improve patient education and make a positive connection with the community.

 Orientation Silent Auction

Members of the school contribute items to be auctioned off to new and current students during the first week of school. Items included text books, furniture, and various other items that osteopathic medical students may find useful including scrubs, LMU-DCOM items, and study aides.

This year the silent auction raised $498.

Mr. DCOM Pageant The Phi Chapter hosts

and annual comedy night/ pageant.

Typical pageant categories with a funny twist including talent, spirit and formal-wear.

TN Special Olympics received $986 (‘10)

Catholic Action Center and Clinic - $1,000 (‘11)

Provides free clothing for homeless and the less fortunate members of the community

Helps to find and provide housing for homeless members of the community

Runs The Community House, which is a new facility that is open 7pm- 8am

everyday for 70 homeless members to utilizeFree clinicFood Bank

Remote Area Medicine (RAM) Clinics Providing medical and dental care free of cost.

LMU-DCOM Sports Physicals for the LMU athletes and local High school athletes provided at no cost.

  “What’s in a doctor bag?” Program (Mini Med-School) LMU-DCOM students go to local elementary schools to

introduce these children to the healthcare field, and to help them learn about what to expect when they go the doctor’s office. While supported by SOMA, most of the Phi Chapter members participate.

This wellness fair began in the Spring of 2009 by the Pediatrics Club to provide local residents the opportunity to learn about healthy eating and incorporating physical activity into the daily routine.

Many members of the Phi Chapter were involved in organizing making this activity a great success.

Phi Chapter at LMU-DCOM is working very hard to become an active organization on the LMU-DCOM campus. Our members are committed to serving the community and to furthering the osteopathic profession in this community as well as in communities across the country.
