Introduction / Contents
HTUF (the Hybrid Truck Users Forum) is a national, multi-year, user-driven program to speed the commercialization of medium- and heavy-duty hybrid and high-efficiency technologies. It is operated by CALSTART in partnership with the U.S. Army’s National Automotive Center (NAC), with project support from the Hewlett Foundation and the Department of Energy. HTUF has been very successful in helping launch the first production of hybrid trucks and is credited with cutting up to two years from product development. HTUF has helped create the first markets and is now working to get purchase incentive funding.

The Road Trip
In lieu of trucking the bus to Dearborn for the exhibit and flying Michigan to attend the event, members of the Siemens Hybrid Drives team elected to take a 600 mile road trip from Alpharetta GA to Dearborn MI to attend the HTUF event.
Some schedule stops during the trip including community outreach activities in the Cincinnati Ohio area where the team will be conducting a Siemens Science Day at a local elementary school to encourage students interests in math and science with hands on experiments.
The crew will be documenting and shearing their experiences of this Hybrid Road Trip via facebook and twitter for anyone interested in following their progress along the way.
