Still think he desperately needs grass for his best chance. Getting fit, should make the entries soon. 5/10 SA 6f 1:16.2h C Asked a bit throughout but didn't have any real pick-up, splits of :25 flat, :37.4, :50.1 and 1:16.3 on our watches for Ellis. 2 2 Colonial Creed Flavien Prat Richard Baltas 5/25/8 SA 4f :49.1h TT B Solo training track move for Baltas, breezing throughout and finishing under a nice hold, sharp and eager, final quarter

mile in :24.3. May be a bit fitter in her second start off a layoff after fading in her comeback in a tough spot in March.

3 3 Angel Alessandra Abel Cedillo Richard Baltas 8/1

4 4 Message Drayden Van Dyke Bob Baffert 9/55/18 SA 5f 1:02h B This time she went faster than given, mostly on her own, splits of :23.3, :35.2 and 1:00.3 for Baffert, looking solid. Does

her best in the afternoon when able to make the pace or press the issue.

5/13 SA 5f :59.1h B Slower than given on our watches, from the half mile pole to the wire in :48 flat before continuing out to 7/8 pole in 1:00.3, but was never really asked much and did well enough for Baffert while appearing in good form. Seeking a second-level allowance main track affair.

 Race #4 Maiden Claiming - 6 1/2F D

FOR MAIDENS, FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD. Three Year Olds, 120 lbs.; Older, 126 lbs. Claiming Price $40,000..

PGM PP RUNNER JOCKEY TRAINER M/L

SCR - Viazar SCRATCHED5/8 SA 5f 1:01h B Broke off far behind Uno Dancer (5f, 101.3h) and closed the gap through the lane to catch workmate in good style mostly

without pressure while finishing with some purpose, final quarter mile in :24.1 under light late coaxing. Worth a look in the proper spot for P. Gallagher.

2 1 Little Rachel Ruben Fuentes Victor Garcia 20/1 2/15 SA 4f :50h B- Obviously has worked several times since, but this is the last we saw of her. Solo half mile drill for V. Garcia, some

coaxing through the lane, final three furlongs in :12.1 and :36.4. Has some ability but probably would fit best for high priced maiden tag.

1/2 SA 5f 1:01.2h B- Inside Bochim (4f, :48.4h) splits of :11.2, :36.2 and :49.2 from the 3/8ths pole to the 7/8ths pole for Garcia, some coaxing in the final stages while clearly best. May have a bit of run, getting fit, worth another look.

3 2 Rosie's Pal Jose Valdivia, Jr. Robert Hess, Jr. 12/1 5/15 SA 5f 1:02.4h TT C+ In blinkers in solo training track drill for Hess, Jr., ridden pretty good through the lane, splits of :12 flat and :37.1 for

the final three furlongs. Fair at best, needs maiden claimers.

4 3 Trouville Flavien Prat Leonard Powell 5/24/20 SA 4f :49h TT B Actually caught her a full five furlongs in solo training track drill, very slow early but nice through the lane without ever

being asked at all, splits of :26 flat, :39 flat and 1:03.3. Maintains her form for Powell, should find a maiden claiming field she can beat soon.

5 4 Enriched by Deb Joel Rosario Richard Baltas 7/24/22 SA 4f :49.1h B In company withCzechmight (4f, :48.1h) for Baltas, breaking off about five lengths in front and finishing down the lane

outside that one, breezing throughout and looking nice for Baltas, final three furlongs in :36.4. Certainly has some improvement in her and should be live vs. maiden claimers next time out.

6 5 Arya's Dagger Tiago Pereira Jorge Periban 30/1 5/8 SA 6f 1:17.2h D+ In blinkers, didn't look too bad in recent training track but this was a step backwards, for sure, final three furlongs in

:40 2/5 under urging throughout, nothing left in the tank at the wire. Pass

4/30 SA 5f 1:00.4h TT B- In blinkers, solo training track drill for Periban, hard urging from the head of the lane to the wire, final three furlongs in :36.1, not too bad for a maiden claiming type. Getting fit, may have a bit of run.

7 6 Belle of Summer Victor Espinoza James Cassidy 20/1 4/12 SA 4f :48.4h C+ Mild urging late to be even throughout with Isee It In Hiseyes (same time) for Cassidy, fair move, splits of :12 flat and :36.4

for the final three furlongs. Maiden claiming material at this stage.

8 7 Sapphire Silk Umberto Rispoli Jeff Mullins 8/14/2 SA 5f 1:02h C Went off pretty quickly but slowed up late, final half mile in :11.3, :23.3 and :49.4 for Mullins, just guided in the final

furlong while tiring. Hard to endorse.

9 8 Katsaros Edwin Maldonado Jeff Bonde 4/1

10 9 Indi Galle Geovanni Franco George Papaprodromou 20/1

11 10 Kelani Kim Abel Cedillo Mark Glatt 3/15/16 SA 4f :48.3h B Solo half mile move for Glatt, splits of :11.4 and :36.4 for the final three furlongs while strictly on her own and looking fine.

Very likely to improve if dropped into a maiden claimer. In good shape

1 1 Stealthediamonds Agapito Delgadillo Mike Puype 5/15/10 SA 4f :48h B+ Breezing every step of the way looking primed and ready, splits of : 23.4 and :48 flat, plenty left. Better on grass than dirt

so this was an especially sharp drill. On edge.

2 2 Oleksandra [AUS] Joel Rosario Neil Drysdale 3/15/9 SA 5f 1:01h TT B- Classy late-running turf sprinter was under very light late coaxing, final three furlongs in :12.1 and :37 flat in solo

training track drill for Drysdale. Okay move, not great, hard to gauge off a layoff but hasn't missed a beat in training since December so she won't have the excuse of being "short".

3 3 Ginger Nut [IRE] Umberto Rispoli John Sadler 15/1 5/9 SA 5f 1:01.2h TT B- Final three furlongs in solo training track drill in :11.4 and :37 flat, mild coaxing through the lane. Was hoping for a bit

better. Disappointed last trip as the favorite, question mark.

4 4 Surrender Now Drayden Van Dyke Peter Miller 10/1

5 5 Miss Hot Legs John Velazquez Simon Callaghan 10/1 4/4 SA 5f 1:01.2h TT B Well in hand throughout in solo training track breeze, final three furlongs in :12.2 and :37 flat, plenty left. In good

shape for Callahgan, most effective sprinting on grass and may have further improvement in her.

6 6 Into Mystic Abel Cedillo Jeff Mullins 10/1

7 7 Jolie Olimpica [BRZ] Mike Smith Richard Mandella 8/55/17 SA 5f 1:00h B Broke off several lengths behind Charlito (5f, 1:01.2h), quickly caught that one at the head of the lane while moving to the

rail and then proved best to the wire before continuing out to 7/8 pole, mild coaxing, splits of :12.2 :36.4 (to the wire) and :49 flat to 7/8 pole, so she probably went a bit slower than given. Did fine but clearly prefers turf and probably is most effective sprinting.

8 8 Just Grazed Me Flavien Prat Philip D'Amato 5/15/17 SA 5f 1:00.1h TT B+ Broke off a few lengths behind Kalliniki (5f, 1:00.4h TT) and then finished down the lane with workmate while

breezing every step of the way looking sharp and eager, splits of :24.4 :36.1 and 1:00.1 for D'A'mato. Freshened and appears perked up and ready to go.

 Race #6 Allowance Optional Claiming - 6F D

1 1 Mo Hawk Abel Cedillo Bob Baffert 5/25/21 SA 4f :47.4h B Worked outside Paint Me Lucky (same time), hard held early, then very lightly coaxed late to drew clear and prove much

best (workmate wasn't asked, though), splits of :23.4 and :47.4 before galloping out nicely. This was his best drill to date, should be ready to show his best stuff.

5/16 SA 6f 1:12.4h B- In company outside Bourbon Trail (same time) with splits of :35.2 and :59.4 to the wire, then continued out to 7/8 pole, up in 1:12.4, easy early, some coaxing late, decent drill but not over the moon. Should return soon, has all of his conditions.

5/10 SA 5fq 1:00hg B In company from gate outside Withholding Info (same time) for Baffert, very easy early while under a nice hold in :24.4, :36.3 and :47.4, then was asked into the lane and seemed to finish well although perhaps a tad second best. Getting fit, been away since last fall when showing some promise but not quite living up to his billing. Worth another look.

2 2 Howbeit Flavien Prat Doug O'Neill 4/1

3 3 Ragtime Blues Irad Ortiz, Jr. Bob Baffert 2/15/17 SA 5f 1:00.3h B+ In company inside Azul Coast (4f, 1:00.4h) for Baffert, breaking off a length in front and finishing two lengths clear at the

wire, absolutely cruising while workmate had to be asked but couldn't keep up, splits of :12 flat, :23.4 and :48.2 on our watches from the half mile pole to the wire. Won debut at Oaklawn Park - hard to say how good a race it was - and will get tested at the next level.

4 4 Scarto Umberto Rispoli Mike Puype 5/25/21 SA 3f :36.4h B Easy old-school blowout for Puype, just breezing with splits of :12.2 and :37 flat on our watches. Was big figure stakes

winner in Florida but has allowance conditions here, seeking a spot.

5/15 SA 6f 1:12.2h B Broke off several lengths behind Bella D (6f, 1:14.1h) and closed the gap to finish head-and-head at the wire, mostly on his own, nice drill for Puype. Won a pair of races at Gulfstream Park including an overnight stakes, should fit on this circuit as well. Plenty fit.

5 5 Zimba Warrior Jose Valdivia, Jr. J. Desormeaux 5/15/10 SA 4f :47h TT B Outside Hard Pass (same time) and did nicely in quick training track drill, edging clear late while coming the final quarter

in :23.4. In good shape, has all of his conditions.

5/3 SA 4f :48.3h B- Hooked in with Imperial Creed and Flinch (already moving, both 5f, 1:03.2h) and was wide into the lane before being ridden out in the final furlong, splits of :23.3 and :48.3 for K. Desormeaux. Was second in a first-level allowance race up north last time out and holds that form.

 Race #7 Allowance Optional Claiming - 1M T

FOR CALIFORNIA BRED OR CALIFORNIA SIRED THREE YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD WHICH HAVE NEVER WON $15,000 OTHER THAN MAIDEN, CLAIMING OR STARTER OR WHICH HAVE NEVER WON TWO RACES OR CLAIMING PRICE $20,000. PGM PP RUNNER JOCKEY TRAINER M/L

1 1 Big City Bane Joel Rosario Carla Gaines 8/15/13 SA 5f 1:01.1h C+ Broke off several lengths in front of Desert Law (5f, 1:00.2h), was urged pretty good through the lane but couldn't quite

hold off workmate (not really asked much) to be second best, a little late changing leads as well. Not impressive but is definitely a turf horse so we won't be too critical. Will get tested on the raise after graduating last time out.

2 2 Ostini John Velazquez J. Kruljac 12/1

3 3 Jamming Eddy Umberto Rispoli Peter Miller 4/1

4 4 Incredible Luck Brice Blanc Jack Carava 15/1

5 5 Sea of Liberty Jorge Velez John Sadler 3/14/16 SA 4f :47.1h TT B Worked inside Fengari (same time) in training track drill for Sadler and turned in quick clocking while being coaxed

most of the way, final three furlongs in a good :35.2. Improving grass specialist broke his maiden, won a starter's allowance race, and now will try first-level allowance state-bred runners. Has shown he can win on the front end or from the second flight.

6 6 King Charlie Geovanni Franco Gary Stute 30/1

7 7 Afternoon Heat Drayden Van Dyke Steve Knapp 8/1

8 8 Lemon King Flavien Prat Tim Yakteen 6/15/1 SA 5f 1:00.4h B Was joined by an unintended workmate midway but did well to the wire, splits of :11.4 and :37.1 from the 3/8ths pole to

the wire, mostly on his own, while getting fit again. Won debut at Del Mar last summer but was stopped on, seems to be coming back well for Yakteen, promising drill considering he's much better on grass than dirt.

9 9 Three Ay Em Abel Cedillo Doug O'Neill 7/24/25 SA 5f 1:02h C+ In company inside Murad Khan (5f, 1:01.4h) for O'Neill, breaking off in front, being joined into the lane and then appearing

slightly second best to the wire while under some late urging (workmate not asked much). splits of :24.3 and :49.3 for the final half mile, fair to moderate under the circumstances. Freshened since December, needs grass to show his best.

10 10 Push Through Mario Gutierrez Edward Freeman 10/1

 Race #8 Maiden Special Weight - 5 1/2F D

FOR MAIDENS, FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD. Three Year Olds, 120 lbs.; Older, 126 lbs..

PGM PP RUNNER JOCKEY TRAINER M/L

1 1 Secret Keeper Abel Cedillo Clifford Sise, Jr. 6/1

2 2 Buyer's Remorse Mario Gutierrez Doug O'Neill 7/25/18 SA 5f 1:00.3h B+ Outside stakes winning Fore Left (same time) for O'Neill and was breezing every step of the way (workmate never

asked, either), splits of :23 flat and :48.1 for the final half mile, very nice while able to go considerably faster if permitted. Been away since October but seems to be coming back a much better type this time around. Follow for sure.

3 3 Queen of Aces Ruben Fuentes Vladimir Cerin 15/1

4 4 With This Vow Jose Valdivia, Jr. Ronald Ellis 15/1 4/25 SA 5f 1:03.2h C- Some coaxing late but not a lot of pick-up, final quarter mile in :26.1. Was a very expensive ($195,000) Timonium

purchase last year but didn't really show a whole lot in this drill for Ellis. Pass for now.

5 5 Queen Verrazano Agapito Delgadillo Jose Flores 12/1

6 6 Favorite Daughter John Velazquez Richard Baltas 12/1 2/8 SA 4f :49.1h TT C+ Broke off far in front of Tiz a Master (4f, :48.1h) for Baltas and hit the wire first, though 'Master was eating up the

ground late, under urging from the 3/8ths pole to the wire, :37.2 on our watches. Not terribly inspiring.

7 7 Frose Geovanni Franco George Papaprodromou 30/1 5/3 SA 5f 1:01h C- Worked inside Kuda Huraa (5f, 1:00.4h) and was second best by a length at the wire while under some late coaxing.

Workmate isn't much. Pass.

8 8 Via Angelica Mike Smith Bob Baffert 6/15/13 SA 4f :49.1h C+ Worked inside Provocation (same time) and was under a hold most of the way while earning splits of :23.2 and :49.1.

Has some ability but was a tad green here and may need racing before showing her best.

4/18 SA 4f :49.1h B- In company outside Fay Dan (same time) for Baffert and may have been slightly second best but was under a nice hold throughout and not permitted to show speed, splits of :23.3 and :49 flat on our watches. Quality Road filly is difficult to assess, seems to have good early speed but hasn't been allowed to show it yet.

4/4 SA 6f 1:15hg C+ Worked inside Seize the Day (same time) for Baffert in gate drill and was not asked at all early in :25.2, :37.4, and :49.4, was put to pressure into the lane and finished all out to be almost a length in front at the wire, up in 1:15.2 on our watches. Nothing to get too excited about but we'll give her another look.

Page 5: Siegel's Workout Analysis Santa Anita Monday, May 25th...May have a bit of run, getting fit, worth another look. 3 2 Rosie's Pal Jose Valdivia, Jr. Robert Hess, Jr. 12/1 5/15 SA 5f

9 9 Fierce for Sul Drayden Van Dyke Bob Baffert 9/55/18 SA 5f 1:00.3h B+ Worked outside Withholding Info (same time) for Baffert and was cruising in hand before being allowed to quicken close

to the wire and responding well, final three furlongs in :37.1 looking good. Was scratched out of a turf sprint recently but sure seemed fine here. Very live at first asking, for sure.

4/16 SA 4f :48h B In company outside Withholding Info (same time) for B. Baffert and was slightly second best through the lane, stout hold early, light coaxing late, splits of :12.1, :24 flat and :48.1 on our watches. Plenty of zip, probably wants to be let roll, will prefer an abbreviated (short) sprint trip.

4/4 SA 4f :46.4hg B+ In blinkers, very quick gate drill for Baffert while in company with Bourbon Trail (4f, :47.1hg), splits of :22.4, :34 flat and :46.3 on our watches, light coaxing only. Speightstown filly brought $650,000 in the OBS March sale last year and it's easy to see why. Curious to see how far she'll be able to carry her zip.
