• Intermittently, the central information display (CID) goes blank and head unit resets every 3 minutes

• No audio in SDARS mode for 2 minutes

Cause• An incorrect data stream was accidently

sent by SIRIUS/XM, causing the resets

• Do not attempt a repair

• Do not program or code the vehicle

• Inform the customer that this issue was not caused by a fault in the vehicle

Field• SIRIUS/XM introduced improvements and

modifications to ensure correctness of the data sent by their broadcasting studios

• Intermittently, the central information display (CID)

• Has reduced backlighting• Is completely inoperative − Audio output is working

Cause• Over-temperature protection function

integrated in the CID

• Do not attempt a repair

• Do not program or code the vehicle

• Inform the customer that this is the concept

Information• The CID has an internal protection function

to prevent serious damage

• There are two steps in case the CID is getting too hot internally

Information• Reduction of the backlighting at an internal

temperature of 167o F to 198o F“B7F8C6 - Backlight reduction because

of increased temperature”

• Complete shutdown of the CID at an internal temperature above 198o F

Cause• Fuel injectors are not seated correctly into

• Certain cylinder heads had deeper bores for injector depth

• Shims were installed into injector bores to allow clearance

• Injector and spark plug removal overlap; from 5 to 39 FRUs, depending on the vehicle
