National Service Scheme Yearly Report - 2016-17

"It is very important to develop the sense of social and civic responsibility and identify the

needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem solving process apart from

bookish knowledge" said by Late Shripatrao Bondre ( Dada). With this moto our college started

NSS Department in 1971 with 100 students. Now we have more than 150 students in NSS

department. Through NSS department we have done so many social activities. Like Tree

Plantation, HIV- Aids Rally, Blood Donation, Cleaning Campaign, Anti-Ragging Movement,

Guest Lectures on Social Problems. Etc. We are awarded with 'Best Volunteer ' in 1998-99. In

2013-14 our NSS department is honoured with 'Best NSS Department' by Shivaji University,

Kolhapur. Actively participation of the NSS volunteers at various national, state level activities is

the core thing of our NSS department. That's why in 2015 miss Seema Gavade (Ex. student) is

honoured with Indira Gandhi National Award at the hands of President Mr. Pranav Mukharjee.

NSS department has a very socialistic and elite tradition. Dr. S.D. Jadhav and Dr. R. D.

Mandnikar are the co-ordinators of NSS department. Now our NSS department is flowershing

vigorously under the able guidance of Prin. Dr.R.K. Shanediwan.
