Year 1990: 85% of elderly live with their children.Year 2000: 88% of elderly live with their children.In 2007, 9031 old folks were abandoned.

We are morally obligated to take cared of our parents
and should not be forced upon as by a law.Some sacrifices must be made by us, as our parents
did when we were young.Different people also have various needs and
necessities.
The amount of cash spent by the government to care for the elderly is lessened.
With this law passed, it ensures that our aged parents will be looked after.
The rise in the number of abandoned elderly would give tourists a bad impression of Singapore.
