POLICIES, PROCEDURES AND SCHOOL INFORMATION Registration: Any adult 18 years of age or older and out of high school may register for a short course regardless of previous educational background. Industry Credential programs require a high school diploma, GED or high school equivalent as well as completion of the Admission Procedure as found online at http://mahoningctc.com/ admission- requirements.html. Short-Term Class Tuition: All tuition fees are listed in the class schedules and must be paid at the time of registration. No person may enter a class unless the tuition has been paid. Cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover are accepted. Tuition does not include the cost of books or supplies unless otherwise stated. Course tuition subject to change without notice. Full-Time and Short-Term Credential Program Tuition: Payment arrangements and initial deposits for all tuition, fees, books and supplies (where applicable) must be completed prior to beginning any program. Financial aid is available to those who qualify in Pell-eligible programs. A no-interest school payment plan is also available to those who qualify in specific programs. Unless stated otherwise tuition includes: uniforms (where applicable) and first sitting for industry certifications. Refund Policy: The school reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment. A full refund will be issued if a class is canceled by MCCTC. Short-Term Class: Students wishing to withdraw may do so by phone or in person. If requested at least five (5) business days prior to the first class date a refund (less a $15.00 withdrawal fee) will be issued. Otherwise no refund will be issued. HEALTHCARE HANDS-ON TRADES FIRE AND EMS

Medical AssistantBeing a Medical Assistant is all about helping others. The care you will be trained to deliver will provide you with the skills you need to work in physicians’ offices, outpatient or ambulatory care facilities, extended care facilities, government facilities and more. As a Medical Assistant you are cross-trained to perform both administrative and clinical duties. You will receive instruction on how to perform clinical components such as collecting and recording patient medical histories and vital signs, assist in tests and minor procedures, give injections, dressing changes and provide patient instructions. On the administrative side, you will be prepared to schedule patient appointments, manage inventory, perform billing operations and daily office tasks. With your added training in phlebotomy you will be able to draw blood from patients or blood donors, label blood samples, assemble and maintain medical instruments including test tubes, needles and vials. The Medical Assistant program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB).

Medical Office SpecialistA rewarding career in the healthcare industry doesn’t only mean providing hands-on patient care. Medical Office Specialists are found in nearly every health care environment. As a Medical Office Specialist you will use your knowledge of medical terminology and procedures to complete a wide range of tasks. WeldingAre you are looking to advance yourself through pursuing a career in manufacturing, construction or even fabrication? Training and earning AWS credentials will open up your opportunities for better jobs, higher pay and advanced career roles. A successful career in welding can be varied and complex and that is why each student will train using SMAW and TIG processes, MIG and Flux core welding techniques, as well as learn field and shop safety, pipe fitting skills and basic blueprint reading. EMT

An EMT is often the first on the scene in an emergency. The training you receive in this program will prepare you to care for sick or injured individuals in an emergency, assess the situation, properly attend to a patient’s condition to provide first-aid treatment or life support care as well as transport patients to medical facilities. This intense, hands-on program will emphasize emergency skills, such as managing respiratory function, trauma assessment and stabilization, cardiac emergencies, and patient assessment. Ambulance ride time is required in addition to the program hours listed. Tuition includes books and BCI background check. National Registry Exam fee (NREMT) is not included.

Firefighter I Communities need protectors, and that is exactly what a firefighter does--protects lives and cities. Are you a protector? If your answer is yes, this course will help you become a well-trained firefighter and a vital part of your community. Local firefighters are also the instructors of our fire program and they are invested in instructing students in how to control fires and how to respond to emergency situations where life, property, or the environment are at risk. If you have a desire to be a part of the firefighting community, this entry level firefighting course will offer you the basic knowledge and skills to function in a firefighting team. Firefighter Level I provides a comprehensive introduction to basic firefighting concepts and skills and includes live fire training. Earning the State of Ohio Firefighter Level One Certification allows you to work as a volunteer or part-time firefighter.

Firefighter IIAre you a firefighter who is ready to advance your fire training? In order to be a full-time, paid firefighter within the State of Ohio you must hold the Firefighter Level II Certification. This course is designed to build on topics and skills learned in Fire Level I with additional emphasis on skills. Advanced rescue and prevention concepts are introduced. Includes live fire training. Prerequisites: NIMS 100 and 700; Emergency Vehicle Operations Course.
