Close up – Reveals facial expression in detail to portray the characters emotions. The whole screen is taken up by herface so she is the main focus.

Shallow focus used to concentrate on the telephone ringing, this signifies to the audience that it has some sortof importance to the short story.

Obscure shot – Half the screen is covered,blocking the view of the shot. This gives thefeeling that someone or something is hidingbehind this object watching the girl secretly.

Low level shot – The character is walking away from the light and in towards the darkness. This signifies that something bad is going to happen next.

Low key lighting, we can just about see the characters face. The darkness gives it a quitemysterious feel to it along with her scared and shocked facial expression it allows the audienceto understand that something negative will happen to this character.

The character is seen with a baseball bat which is ordinary however as it is seen in her hand on a dark lonely night it lets the audience understand it is being used as a weapon and creates suspense and puts themOn edge.

Long shot used to introduce the setting, which looks like her bedroom. The shot allows the audience to see the whole room, and she is very small in the frame which represents her as disempowered.
