Walleye migrate between the Bay of Quinte and Lake Ontario during spring and fall, avoiding warm temperatures in the upper baySome species prefer the wetlands to spawn. Walleye are “low-cold” type (low vegetation; cold spawning temps 8-10C).

We can expect water temps to follow trends in air temperature.

Bay of Quinte here is location near Belleville.

Lake Ontario is near Flat Point, south of mouth of BoQ.

Of the 7 stations we had, only 4 had continuous records long enough to complete and

rmse calculation.

However on July 10th we did have records from the last 4 locs.

At these rates it will take 50 years to speed up the max temp reached in the BoQ by one

week.

(280 years by one month).
