Application NO PIA0085/20

Site Plans

*2 No buildings are being proposed to be erected.

*3 No proposed site works needed as the property has been set up for horse use formany years.

*4 All paddocks will be grazed throughout the year except for spring time whenpaddocks 2 & 5 will be locked up for hay.

*5 5 strand wire fences

*6 Paddocks, ,3 & 4 will be used when hay paddocks are closed off.

*7 During Spring all ponies will be kept in one paddock at a time due to the large size ofthe paddocks, upon the recommendation of veterinary advice, due to the increasedchances of Laininitis during periods of high pasture growth.

*8 All hay produced on the property will be taken off site and stored in a shed elsewhere.Small amounts will be brought back as needed and will be stored in an existing shed onthe property, with mouse bait stations checked on a regular basis. Ponies are fed a grassand hay diet only.

*9 Due to the size of the ponies, the manure is substantially smaller and breaks downmuch faster than horse manure. it is used as a natural fertiliser in the paddocks. Toincrease the rate in which it breaks down, dung beetles have been released and when thepaddock has been fully grazed any remaining manure is harrowed back into the soil, encouraging it to break down and rejuvenate the pasture. This has proved to be asustainable and environmentally friendly way to maintain the health of the pasture over30 years of miniature pony ownership.

O No manure is stored on sites there are no stables or loose boxes.

*, I Water is supplied to all paddocks in permanent troughs, which are fed by large watertanks with catchment from existing 3 bay shed.

*12 There are 2 full time residents( ourselves ) on the property, both being retired. it is theprimary residence for the animal owners.

13 Ponies are infrequently moved to or from the property approx 4 to 5 times a year andf so between 7 am and inid afternoon, in a single vehicle and a horse float.

*14 There are minimal weeds on the property. Limiting the animal feed intake to hay/grassfrom the property minimises the introduction of new weeds. Daily visits to the animalsensures the growth of weeds is monitored and the use of an appropriate weedicideusually done by hand sprayer or backpack.

15 No stallions are being kept on the property. The majority of the ponies are maresith only 3 having ever been bred with.

*Natural fertiliser from the breakdown of manure is the primary source of fertiliser. Howevera contractor may be employed to spread fertiliser on an annual basis to ensure the healthof the pasture.
