Overview  Transportation processing is a central element in the Logistics chain. The functionality allows you to control and monitor the entire shipment.  Transportation processing can be used both for goods receipt and goods issue so that all goods movements can be represented in the system. Incoming shipments are made on the goods receipt side following the goods purchase order and shipping notication outgoing shipments are made on the sales side following the sales order and delivery creation. E!ective transportation planning and processing ensure that shipments are dispatched without delay and arrive on schedule. Transportation costs play an essential role in the calculation of the price of a product. It is important to "eep these transportation costs to a minimum so that the price of a product remains competitive. E#cient transportation planning and processing helps to "eep these costs down. 2. Purpose  The purpose of this document is to provide an understanding on the Transportation process and the relevant customi$ing settings. 3. Requirements for carrying out transportation processing: %. &or outgoing shipments' the following re(uirements must be met for transportation processing)  The delivery type must be *agged as relevant for transportation in +ustomi$ing.  The underlying deliveries must contain a route.  The routes of the deliveries must be *agged as relevant for transportation in +ustomi$ing.  The transportation bloc"ing reason in the delivery header must be blan".
