Salt & Pepper
Research
In American dinner etiquettes, it is a manner to always pass the salt and pepper together. Although salt and pepper are suppose to be passed together, most salt and pepper sets are separate prod-ucts which can be hard to pass together.
The goal of this project is to de-velop a salt and pepper set that are separate products but can be attach into one object.

Market Research
Mechanism
I researched what kind of salt and pepper grinders were out in the market. This market re-search helped me get a better understanding of the product. It also gave me some inspiration to come up with my design.
The mechanism I decided to use for my model was the nor-mal 6in metal grinder. Under-standing the demensions and function of the grinder helped me construct my designs effi-ciently.
Process
1. Wood Cutting 2. Sanding Wood
4. Coating
Using the band saw, I cut my woods into a rough triangular prism shapes.
Since the cuts on the bandsaw are very inaccurate, I used a belt sander to clean up all of my faces to create clean triangular prisms.
using wood glue and clams, I glued my smaller triangular prism with 1/4” cherry wood sheets.
After all of the cutting, sanding, drilling, etc were all done, I coated my wood pieces with Polyurethane coating.
SketchingI sketched different types of salt and pep-per grinder sets.
3. Gluing
Final Design
Salt + Pepper DesignMy final design is a salt and pepper grinder that combines to become a whole, since the theme of my project was “part of a whole.” The salt shaker is able to rest on top of the pepper grinder. They can be used together or sepa-rate. The design I went for is a very simple and modern form.
ObjectiveTo design The North Face brand bike safety vest for the urban city business-men. The vest must be fashionable and still keep users safe with its high reflectivity. The vest must meet safety needs, the current trend, as well as The North Face brand identity. A second objective is to create a fully functioning prototype of the vest.

Fabric & Pattern
FInal Sewing Process
The fabrics I chose were a navy polyester fabric, a polyester reflective fabric, and a white mesh fabric. Then using Illustrator, I created a cut pattern template for all the parts of the vest.
Using the patterns I created, cut my fabric into the right shape and size. Using pins to help hold my fabric together, I then sewed pieces together using a regular sewing machine

Hotaru- Urban Reflector Vest
The Hotaru urban reflective vest by The Northface is a bicycle safety vest. With its high reflectivity, it keeps bikers safe in the urban city nighttime traffic. The vest also has a function of transforming into a tote bag. Therefore, when not in use, the vest may be stored in bag form along with hel-mets or other equipments. The loose wind-breaker-like fit allows for users to wear it even over heavy jackets.
1. Walking to bike with bag form of the vest.
2. Pull out helmet and/or other equipment in the bag.
3. Open up the front zipper of the bag.
4. Pull the vest out of the pocket and push the bag portion into the zippers.
5. Put the vest on. 6. Ride home on the bike safely.
Final Design Story Board
Problem StatementShower products are always left in shower spaces, making them a very cluttered and messy area. A more efficient way to organize shower products would help make the shower space a more spacious, com-fortable, and clean area. At the same time, every family member being able to have their preferred type of sham-poo, conditioner, and body wash while not having the mass amounts of bottles in the shower will enhance the bath experience.

Market Research
The ideal number of children in a typical modern family is 2.4.
48% of homeowners wished they could make their shower larger
58% of people take showers in the morning than anyother time of the day
73% of people are sharing their shower with their spouse/signiticant other
Americans on average take 6.7 showers per week.

Ideation Mock-Ups
From my top sketches, I made sketch models to understand the form, size, and function of my ideas. The final idea i went with are magnetic dispensers that attach to each other as well as onto the wall
Concept 5wall hanging dispenser
Final Concept magnetic dispenser set
The bottLESS is a customizable personal shower dis-penser. Each individual dispenser magnetically attaches to each other as well onto the wall mount. Once finished showering, the user takes the dispenser off of the mount and out of the shower space. This results in eliminating the mass amounts of shower bottles from the shower space.
Final Design
