SHINE OF APRIL’S WARMESTSUNIn a coconut shell, substantial Mauritian exploit dematerialised for a second wave in 2021 and establishes new scales in cultural immunitary response: the only month long festival dedicated to Creative Music and Jazz in the Southern Hemisphere, humble MAMA JAZ, had a territorial reach of +600,000 across the internet, national TV and radio; internationally, audiences following from +70 foreign countries through the internet were sustained while the global celebration of International Jazz Day on the 30th of April specifically integrated the festival’s efforts to a network of +190 countries, thus impacting on millions of humans in diverse ways and through different media.

The 6th edition of MAMA JAZ was made possible thanks to the benevolent contributions of 73 artists, 38 partners, 21 conversationalists and an active staff of 7 humans, through producing for free public access a programme of 86 components representing 55 hours of content; essentially constituted of 10 hours sincerely dedicated to knowledge and 45 hours of pure music.

INTERNATIONAL JAZZ DAY30th of April, 10th Anniversary

Music unites people in all corners of the World and Jazz is embraced as a key to the comprehension of Music.

Celebrated with thousands of programmes around the globe each year on April 30, International Jazz Day now brings together 190 countries from all 7 continents; highlighting Art’s important role in encouraging dialogue, combating discrimination and promoting human dignity.

This year was the tenth edition of this global initiative championed by Unesco & The Herbie Hancock institute of Jazz, where the present historical context made the occasion extra special.

MAMA JAZ, as a proud organisational partner, marked the date with:

#mamajaz2021 #jazzday10 www.Jazzday.com
