Lamps:
Don’t touch with your bare fingers. Oils and dirt burn through and shorten the lamp life.
Fresnel:
Spherical Reflector Spotlight
Scoop:
Huge wash of light, usually on a Cyclorama
Barndoor:
Four-way shaping of light, used in a Fresnel.
Tophat:
To make a round spot of light or to reduce a spot of light, used in a Fresnel.
Gobo:
Pattern of light, used in an ERS
Reminder:
After hanging/ unhanging a batten, you must add/ subtract weight from the arbor for proper balance.
Floor Pockets:
Lighting circuits in the floor.
Continuity:
A complete, unbroken, uninterupted circuit.
Hot Spot:
Brightest part of a beam of light, usually in the center of the beam.
