SHARING TIMES Thank you everyone for the warm and gracious welcome to St. Francis Senior Ministries. I am honored to become a member of an organization which has been serving the Tiffin and regional community for more than 147 years -- "We exist to create a community where each individual can live life fully". My own experience (while considerably less than 147 years) has been spent entirely in the post-acute care and older adult housing and services arena. I became a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in 1986 and have thoroughly enjoyed working with residents, families, and coworkers ever since. The variety of services and the collaborative nature of working so closely with our guests has been very rewarding. During my career previous responsibilities have included roles as Senior Administrator, Chief Operating Officer, and Executive Director/Vice President of Operations with both small, regional, and public organizations. My wife, Sheila, and I have been married for 27 years and have two children, Casey (daughter) and Addison (son), both named after grandparents. We look forward to learning more about Tiffin and all that it has to offer. Please feel free to stop by at any time to introduce yourself as time allows. I am eager to get to know all of you and to become a familiar part of the St. Francis Senior Ministries Community. Sean

SHARING

TIMES

Thank you everyone for the warm and gracious welcome to St.

Francis Senior Ministries. I am honored to become a member of

an organization which has been serving the Tiffin and regional

community for more than 147 years -- "We exist to create a

community where each individual can live life fully".

My own experience (while considerably less than 147 years) has

been spent entirely in the post-acute care and older adult housing

and services arena. I became a Licensed Nursing Home

Administrator in 1986 and have thoroughly enjoyed working with

residents, families, and coworkers ever since. The variety of

services and the collaborative nature of working so closely with

our guests has been very rewarding. During my career previous

responsibilities have included roles as Senior Administrator,

Chief Operating Officer, and Executive Director/Vice President

of Operations with both small, regional, and public organizations.

My wife, Sheila, and I have been married for 27 years and have

two children, Casey (daughter) and Addison (son), both named

after grandparents. We look forward

to learning more about Tiffin and all

that it has to offer.

Please feel free to stop by at any time

to introduce yourself as time allows. I

am eager to get to know all of you and

to become a familiar part of the St.

Francis Senior Ministries Community.

Worship at St. Francis Senior Ministries:

Here at St. Francis, our faith is at the center of everything we do. Every day at St. Francis Home begins with Mass at

9:30 a.m. Masses are also offered regularly at Elizabeth Schaefer Apartments and at Friedman Village.

Every Sunday at 2:00, Interdenominational Worship is offered at St. Francis Home AND at Friedman Village

Assisted Living. The St. Francis Home service is led by a team of local pastors and Rev. Beth Westphal, our Manager

of Mission and Pastoral Care, leads the one at Friedman Village. Both services are designed to be comfortable for

worshippers from most mainline denominations.

Our next Protestant Communion Service in the St. Francis Home Chapel on Monday, September 25, at 3:30 pm.

Rev. Beth Westphal, who is an ELCA Lutheran Pastor, leads these services. She offers an open Table where all baptized

Christians are welcome to commune. Beth is happy to answer any questions you might have. She can be reached at

419-447-2723 x3001.

Bible Study Opportunities at St. Francis Senior Ministries: We have a number of resident-led Bible Study groups that meet around campus. If your group would like to invite new

members, please contact Kellie Hartsel to publish it in the newsletter.

Beth Westphal, Manager of Mission and Pastoral Care, leads two Bible Studies on campus:

The St. Francis Home Bible Study meets every Wednesday at 3:15 in the 3rd Floor Solarium.

The Elizabeth Schaefer Apartments Bible Study meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month in the Lounge.

We will meet on September 5 & 19 , at 2:00 p.m.

Residents and staff from any part of our campus are welcome at all of our Bible Studies. Both groups are currently

studying the readings appointed for Sunday mornings.

SAVE THE DATE: October 31, 2017 is the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation. Many local

congregations will be hosting events to mark this occasion. We will join those events by offering a mini-retreat: 500

Years of the Ever-Reforming Church – An Ecumenical Commemoration. The retreat will be held in the St. Francis

Spirituality Center from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. It will be led by a team of Roman Catholic, Lutheran and United Church

of Christ clergy and will include time for conversation. Watch for fliers around campus and for more details in the

October newsletter.
