He has 30 years energy experience including considerable LNG expertise gained through LNG assignments across the whole supply chain in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. He also regularly delivers industry leading training courses on LNG technical and commercial aspects and provides numerous in-company workshops around the world. He frequently chairs and presents at key international LNG conferences,
and often writes and is quoted in LNG industry media. An engineer by training, he is a strategist, consultant and trainer by choice.
Alan Whitefield, Associate Consultant, Holmwood Consulting Alan Whitefield has been involved in commercial aspects of the physical and derivative LNG and natural gas business from proprietary trading through to setting up trading desks and asset optimisation. He has 15 years’ prior experience and was most recently Head of LNG at ICAP Energy where he set up and managed the LNG broking desk. Prior to this, Alan has held a Managing Consultant position in another consulting company focussed on ETRM solutions, was Director of Gas Trading for Credit Suisse International, Senior Gas Trader
at EDF Trading Limited and a Gas Trader at EDF Energy in the UK.

David is a Fellow of the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies and is co-author for the books “Gas in Asia” (June 2008); “Middle East Gas & North African Gas” (March 2011) and he is currently working with the Institute on a book on gas and LNG pricing.

Head of Strategy at the JV Repsol-Gas Natural LNG (STREAM LNG). Before joining Stream LNG, he held different positions at Gas Natural where he has played a part in many energy agreements and investment projects, such as CCGTs, Wind farms, LDCs and LNG terminals. He began his energy career at the power utility Endesa, where he contributed to its European expansion. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, MBA and he successfully completed a Master’s Degree in Electricity and a postgraduate programme in Venture Capital.

years with General Electric Oil & Gas by covering different commercial and technical roles: from the most recent where he was Global Market Development Manager being responsible for expanding markets in the Oil & Gas/Energy sector to Product Manager for compressors and other roles in application engineering, commercial operations, sales and business development for LNG. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Florence and an MBA from SDA Bocconi, Milan.

Rokas Masiulis, CEO, Klaipedos naftaFor 14 years worked at managerial positions in Energy practices of “Arthur Andersen“ and “Ernst & Young“. His areas of activities covered Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan. Prior to joining SC Klaipedos Nafta Rokas Masiulis was member of the Board of LEO LT, Lithuanian electricity holding company
uniting most of electricity assets in Lithuania. He has been General Manager of SC Klaipedos Nafta, one of the most modern oil terminals in Europe, since May 6, 2010. Since September 2010, he has acted as Member of the Company‘s Management Board. One of the main objectives for Mr. Masiulis is implementation of LNG import terminal. Mr. Masiulis graduated from Faculty of Economics and Production Management, Vilnius University, as well as from Institute of International Relations and Political Science.

Brest, France) in 1992 with an Engineer Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He joined Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) in 1998 as a commercial engineer. He was Manager of the Marketing Department between 2002 and 2007, actively promoting the membrane technology around the world. Between October 2007 and December 2009 he was Director of the Engineering Division, which is principally in charge of, the design of the Cargo Containment System and the Cargo Handling System, and the supply of all related drawings and calculation notes to shipyards and classification societies for each new LNG Carrier project. In January 2010, he resumed his commercial functions as Commercial Vice President. He joined GDF SUEZ headquarters in April 2011. As Vice President Prospection for GDF SUEZ LNG, he is in charge of prospecting for new LNG supplies and for opportunities in new projects, for GDF SUEZ LNG portfolio.

He serves as Study Group Lead on the International Gas Union (IGU) Programme Committee D.2 (PGC D.2), “LNG and New Markets” for the 2009-2012 IGU Triennium and in the previous triennium served on PGCD.1 Study Group on “LNG and Gas Inter-changeability.” Prior to joining AGA, Mr. Williams was Senior Project Manager on LNG Safety Research for the Gas Research Institute (GRI) where he served as the project management lead on LNG research for 11 years. Mr. Williams’ research management responsibilities in LNG covered issues including LNG storage tank rollover, vapor dispersion and pool fire radiation from accidental releases, rapid phase transitions (RPTs) from spills on water, LNG release pool evaporation and pressurized release vaporization, crack arrest integrity of storage tank steels, and LNG vehicle refueling and on-board safety. Mr. Williams holds advanced degrees from the Institute of Environmental Science, Miami University and Kellogg Graduate School of Business, Northwestern University.
Helena Wisden, Senior Trading Manager, Cheniere Helena has worked in a number of LNG market-facing positions at companies including Marex Spectron and Poten. She joined the commercial team at Cheniere three years ago to develop
LNG trading in the short term market. With Cheniere’s first liquefaction plant due to start producing in 2015 she is currently focused on creating trading opportunities for the company’s short term LNG cargoes.

Jose Ramon Arango has been with the Panama Canal since 1991. Until 2000, he held several positions in Canal Financial Management and Organizational Effectiveness. In 2001 he was transferred to the Executive Vice Presidency for Planning and Business Development as an International Trade Analyst for the Liquid Bulk Segment, responsible for research, analysis and management of studies and relevant information about logistics, international trade and world economy and its impact in Canal competitiveness against other routes and liquid bulk transportation alternatives. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Universidad Santa María La Antigua, Master Studies in Maritime Development from the School of Law from the University of Panama. He completed executive programs in Advanced Maritime Economics and Logistics, from the Center of Maritime Economic and Logistics - Erasmus University of Rotterdam, on Pricing Strategies from The Transportation Center of Northwestern University and on Project Management from Texas A&M University.

What has happened, where are we and what is the future path for LNG shipping?
Andrew Clifton, General Manager, SIGTTOAndrew Clifton became General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of the Society of International Gas Tanker and Terminal Operators (SIGTTO) in November 2012. He brings a wealth of experience to the role, not least over 30 years in the liquefied gas shipping industry. This involvement includes 19 years at
sea, mainly on liquefied gas carriers, a first class honours degree in shipping operations and shore managerial experience over the last 12 years. The latter includes three years working at the UK’s Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB), almost two years in the SIGTTO Secretariat as a Technical Adviser and, most recently, over five years based in Indonesia as LNG Shipping Operations Manager for the BP Tangguh LNG project. In this most recent posting Andrew was responsible for the project’s shipping activities and overseeing their development, from construction through vessel delivery to the plant commissioning and entry into service of the ships built to serve the project. Andrew was also the SIGTTO Panel chairman from October
2008. Andrew is the eighth and youngest General Manager and the first GM who was formerly a Technical Adviser at the Society.

specializing in bulk supplies of natural gas to industrial as well as fuel customers, a fully owned subsidiary of Shell. Earlier on he was the regional manager of engineering company VIAK, Head of Technical Department in City of Bergen, CEO of a gas company Naturgass Vest, merged with Gasnor and the head of fuel markets in Gasnor. He graduated in Masters of Science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
