1 Amar Kutir

Established in 1923,Amar Kutir is the centre for ruraldevelopment situated in a great naturalsetting. The showroom showcases varioushandicrafts and has a stock of over 1300regional handicraft products. It was once aplace of refuge for the Indian independencemovement. It now functions with the aim ofpromoting local arts and crafts. It is situatedalong the banks of Kopai River, some 15 kmaway from Shantiniketan. 

2 Vishvabharti Campus

Vishvabharti Campus is a public central university, especially wellknown because of its association with thefamous Bengali polymath - RabindranathTagore (Gurudeb).  Tagore foundedthis university in the year 1901 and named itVishva Bharati, which means communionwith the world. Just outsidethe gate, there is a small shack sellingrefreshments. Try the trademark Bengalipreparation of Ghugni with a glass ofrefreshing lemon tea.
