If you are working with assemblies, you can display a part of an assemble file.

If you are working with assemblies, you can work on a part file of a assemble file for creating and editing operations.

File_save or close

When the word "Modified" (in parentheses) appears in the title bar of the graphics window, you know that you have made changes to the part that have not yet been saved.

After a part is saved, the Status line will say "Part file saved", and the word "Modified" will be removed from the graphics area window title bar.

Tools_Expression When an object is created in

Unigraphics, expressions (i.e., equations) are created by the system, describing information about the object's size, location, and other information.

You can also create expressions yourself, and then use the names of the expressions in place of actual values as you create geometry. Later, you can change the values of the expressions and the part will automatically update.

and orientation in modeling space. All coordinate systems in Unigraphics are

right-hand rule coordinate systems.

The Absolute Coordinate System (ACS) is the coordinate system from which all objects are referenced.(fixed)

“Existing coordinate system" (CSYS) can be used to return to a specific location and orientation in modeling space.

The Work Coordinate System (WCS) is the one you will use for construction when you want to determine orientations and angles of features as you build your solid.

denoted XC, YC, and ZC. WCS-Origin…Defines a new

WCS by redefining the origin of the current WCS.

Layers help you organize and manage data within a file. Every object in the database is located on one of 256 individual layers.

Layers act as a filter to specify which objects are selectable, visible, or invisible. They can show different geometry in different views.
