PRELIMINARY CONFERENCE PROGRAM
About the Southern Gerontological Society and the 2019 Ruby Anniversary & Conference
What is the Southern Gerontological Society?
The Southern Gerontological Society (SGS), established in 1979, is a network of the South's most respected gerontology professionals. SGS members are educators, practitioners, aging network personnel, researchers, health professionals, policy makers, students, and other community members. SGS bridges research and practice, translating and applying knowledge in the field of aging.
What is the purpose of the 2019 Annual Conference? In 2019, SGS will celebrate its 40th conference anniversary by bringing together academics, practitioners, students, and others engaged in work within the field of aging to attend and/or present their latest research. Join us as we celebrate 40 years of success! In addition to the celebration, SGS will host conference content that includes keynote speakers, panel symposia, workshops and both paper and poster sessions.
Who will be participating in this conference? This annual meeting will focus on advances in gerontological research and applied practice. Throughout the conference, an anticipated 300 meeting attendees will be able to select from numerous continuing education and professional development presentations, networking opportunities, and engaging events that present unique marketing opportunities for supporters to interact with attendees. Specifically, this program is designed to educate CCM®board certified case managers, social workers, healthcare practitioners, long-term care administrators, and (CHES/MCHES) health education specialists.
