Jagata Janani SHG was formed on 10-11-2005 with member size of 16. Malati Oyal is the president while Annapurna Khemundu

and Kuni Nayak are secretary and treasurer respectively. They conduct monthly meeting on 10 th of every month. Initially member

saving was 50 rupees which has been increase to rupees 100 now. Cumulative saving per member is around Rs 5000 with total

saving Rs 75,867 as on 30th Dec11. All the members are insured under JBY. They have taken first linkage of Rs 16000, second Rs

48000 and third Rs 371951 under SGSY linkage during the year 2009-10 for Milch animal rearing from Koraput block. The group

was financed by S.B.I Koraput. Under SGSY each member took loan of Rs 22000 to purchase a cow and cattle feed. They have

constructed cattle shed on their own. They have already availed subsidy of Rs 125000 and RFA Rs 10000 from Block. Now they are

getting net benefit of around Rs 1000 per month on an average by selling milk to the co operative society and sufficient milk for

family consumptions. Every body has got at least two heifers or bullock now.

They have got Rs 1500 per member from OMFED for azola cultivation for cattle feed but not accepted well. The group

members are involved not only in Milch animal rearing but also they are involved in other income generating activities like

tamarind business, ginger and rain fed potato cultivation through revolving fund assistance successfully. This group is an example

to others.

Bali Thakurani SHG (Musaput,Kendar)Koraput Block.

Bali Thakurani Kalanjiam group was formed in the year 2006 in a

remote village called Musaput in Kendar G.P. with 12 members

belonging to poorest of the poor section of the B.P.L Category. it got

SGSY assistance of Rupees 2,50,000/ in 2009-2010 from Koraput Block..

The group purchased 50 goats & are running the business successfully

now apart from investing in their traditional cultivation it has changed

their standard of living substantially.

Gramadevi SHG (Puturaghati, Litiguda) Koraput Block..

Gramadevi Kalanjiam is six year old women SHG, one of the few successful/long run groups in NALCO

periphery. This group consists of 13 members with Ratnabati Sahoo as president and Korpura

Choudhury as secretary. This group had taken bank loan two times before SGSY linkage. They were

sanctioned Rs 2, 80,000 under SGSY in the year 2009-2010 which was used for ginger cultivation

and grocery.
