In industry, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is the process of managing the entire

lifecycle of a product from its conception, through design and manufacture, to service and disposal. PLM

integrates people, data, processes and business systems and provides a product information backbone for

companies and their extended enterprise.

Product Lifecycle anagement (PLM) should be distinguished from 'Product life cycle management

(marketing)' (PLCM). PLM describes the engineering aspect of a product, from managing descriptions and

properties of a product through its development and useful life; whereas, PLCM refers to the commercial

management of life of a product in the business market with respect to costs and sales measures.

Product lifecycle management is one of the four cornerstones of a corporation's information technol-

ogy structure. All companies need to manage communications and information with their customers (CRM-

customer relationship management), their suppliers (SCM-supply chain management), their resources within

the enterprise (ERP-enterprise resource planning) and their planning (SDLC-systems development life cy-

cle). In addition, manufacturing engineering companies must also develop, describe, manage and communi-

cate information about their products.

Siemens PLM Software works collaboratively with clients to create open enterprise solutions that

enable them to transform their process of innovation and maximize value throughout all phases of the prod-

uct lifecycle. PLM is an increasingly important and visible enterprise business strategy that lets organiza-

tions digitally manage product information from ideation to retirement, netting more business value from

every product. As our customers' need for digital collaboration between disparate and distant groups in-

creases, we create global access to product data, process information and ideas.

Speakers also told the importance of designing in present scenario and how the designing makes the

products simpler and effective. They also presented the demonstration on Siemens Solid Edge Software so

that students could understand the practical aspects.

The seminar was very much interactive and beneficial for the students .The students showed keen

interest in the importance of the training and knowing about the other details of the training from the speak-

ers. The seminar was ended with question answer session in which different types of queries of the students

regarding the future prospective of the training were answered by the speakers. The guest speakers thanked

One of the major festivals of India, Holi was celebrated with enthusiasm and gaiety on 27th

March 2013 in the premises of Samalkha Group of Institutions, Samalkha. Holi is also called

the Spring Festival - as it marks the arrival of spring the season of hope and joy. The gloom of the

winter goes as Holi promises of bright summer days. Nature too, it seems rejoices at the arrival of

Holi and wears its best clothes. Fields get filled with crops promising a good harvest to the farmers

and flowers bloom colouring the surroundings and filling fragrance in the air.

In the campus hostels the festival of colours heralding summer was celebrated by students by

applying ‘gulal’ on each other, gorging on sweets and singing and dancing to songs. All the senior

members of SGi were present on this occasion. The Director SGi Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Goel congratu-

lated the students and said that Holi is a festival of love and joy and should be used as a medium of

communication to remove the mental dirt and impurities and cleanse the mind. He also advised the

students to celebrate Holi with a great deal of zest and vigor, as it is a time to remember the bright-

ness and splendor of living, and a time to spread joy, colour, and love.
