Parents of current 4 th and 5 th graders who tool ISTEP+ last spring can enter the code on your childs ISTEP+ report into the Pearson Perspective site to receive individualized resources for your child. The site is located at: https://indiana.pearsonperspective.com/perspective/ homeLinkTracker Please contact your childs teacher if you have questions. This month, I would like to share a link from the Indiana Department of Education that explains important assessment vocabulary our kids should know and understand to be successful on ISTEP+. Reviewing this vocabulary at home with your children (in grades 3-5) is another way to help them feel confident and comfortable when they take ISTEP+ this spring. You can access the vocabulary words at: http://www.doe.in.gov/assessment/ istep-standards-and-assessment-vocabulary . We want all of our kids to feel as relaxed, confident, and prepared as possible when taking any assessment. Thank you for continuing to work with us to support and encourage our kids. Please continue to let us know how we can help. Respectfully, Dr. Davin E. PROCEDURE TO REPORT A STUDENT ABSENCE—A parent/guardian is to call the school to report a school absence ON THE DAY OF THE ABSENCE. You may leave a VOICE MAIL message at 885-5246. Press 1, and answer the questions, pressing the # button after each response. Voicemail is available 24 hours a day to report an absence. Calls prior to 8:00 am are encouraged and appreciated. If a call hasn’t been received by 10:00am the day of each absence, a School Messenger reminder notification will be delivered by telephone. A call is needed EACH DAY a student is absent. Your child should remain home if they have diarrhea, vomiting or an elevated temperature of 100 or

above. Students may return to school once they have been diarrhea free, vomiting free, and fever

free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications.
