Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time
But Jesus passed through the midst of them and went away.
This final sentence may leave you feeling a bit cold. When people tell us things we do not want to hear, don’t we tend to become upset and angry? When the doctor tells us we need to loose a few pounds or Father needs more money for a project or someone says “this dish is salty” and it is what you brought to the pot-luck? These things happen in day to day life. So when does being upset turn into fury as in today’s Gospel?
What is Jesus telling the people that turns their hearts of amazement to a mob mentality? The truth is the only answer that can be found. We see the truth all through scripture as Jesus points out to the mob. So today we ask ourselves what is the truth of the situation God wants us to see? Each of us in our own lives have little parts that could use some im-provement so let us be honest with ourselves as we examine our consciences. As we are preparing for the Sacraments let us prayerfully ask God, what do you want me to do to be the best version of YOU in my world today. Chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, patience, kindness and humility are not only attainable they are goals we can work towards daily if only we would ask Jesus to teach us, to guide us, to help us. He is passing through right now.

Pero él, pasando por en medio de ellos, se alejó de ahí.
Esta oración final puede hacer que te sientas un poco frío. Cuando la gente nos dice cosas que no queremos escuchar, ¿no tendemos a enfadarnos y enfadarnos? Cuando el médico nos dice que necesitamos perder unos kilos o que el padre necesita más dinero para un proyecto o alguien este plato es muy salado
y es lo que trajiste a la olla de la suerte? Estas cosas pa-san en el día a día. Entonces, ¿cuándo el enfado se con-vierte en furia como en el Evangelio de hoy? ¿Qué le está diciendo Jesús a la gente que con-vierte sus corazones de asombro en una mentalidad de turba? La verdad es la única respuesta que se puede en-contrar. Vemos la verdad en todas las Escrituras cuando Jesús señala a la multitud. Entonces, hoy nos preguntamos cuál es la ver-dad de la situación que Dios quiere que veamos. Cada uno de nosotros en nuestras propias vidas tiene partes pequeñas que podrían mejorar algo, así que seamos ho-nestos con nosotros mismos al examinar nuestra con-ciencia. Mientras nos preparamos para los Sacramentos, permítanos pedirle a Dios con oración, qué quiere que haga para que sea la mejor versión de USTED en mi mundo de hoy. La castidad, la templanza, la caridad, la diligencia, la paciencia, la bondad y la humildad no so-lo son alcanzables, son objetivos por los que podemos trabajar a diario si solo le pidiéramos a Jesús que nos enseñe, que nos guíe, que nos ayude.
