PASTOR’S COLUMN Dear Parish Family, members, a endees, guest and seekers, The Lord be with you! I am sure someone will be wondering, “What were ALL those boxes doing in the Sanctuary today and why were we blessing them?” Next weekend, we begin our Busy Parish Retreat and the books contained in all those boxes will be distributed a er Mass, for all those who signed up last month to receive their free copy. If you forgot, don’t worry, we have ordered extra! Most parishes offer a Parish Retreat or Mission that lasts 3 to 4 days and is offered usually in the morning and evening. A small percentage of the parish ACTUALLY a ends because MOST parishioners are BUSY doing other things. BECAUSE the Busy Parish Retreat OCCURS during the weekend at ALL the Masses, everyone in the parish CAN a end! This way WE ARE ALL HEARING AND RESPONDING to the same message at all of our SIX MASSES! We will have three Busy Parish Retreat Weekends: February 25th and 26th, May 6th and 7th, and October 14th and 15th. In between the week-ends, everyone will be asked to either read pages of the book and/or do different spiritual exercises. In my column, I will regularly give you insights and encourage-ment. I will also publish “witness tes monies” from YOU on how you are doing with your Busy Parish Retreat.

This year, the water will be emp ed from the Bap smal Font and the side door holy water containers. Purple cloths will be draped over them, to remind us that we are fas ng from Holy Water. HOLY WA-TER WILL BE AVAILABLE IN TWO SPECIAL CONTAINERS; ONE IN FRONT OF THE BAPTISMAL FONT AND THE OTHER IN THE CHAPEL. Currently they are both in the Chapel.

Estoy seguro de que alguien se estará preguntando, “¿Que hacen todas esas cajas en el Santuario y por qué las están bendiciendo?” El próximo fin de semana comen-zamos nuestro Ocupado Re ro Parroquial y los libros, contenidos en dichas cajas, serán distribuidos después de las Misas para todos aquellos que firmaron el mes pasado para recibir su copia gratuita. Si Usted se olvidó, no se preocupe, hemos ordenado copias extras. La mayoría de las parroquias ofrecen un Re ro Parroquial o Misión que dura 3 o 4 días y se ofrece generalmente en la mañana y en la tarde. We will be helping a local elder of the parish by pain ng the outside of her home. This is a great project for families with teens and young adults. If you would like to share the im-portance of giving back to God for your many blessing with your teens, this is a great opportunity.
