Seven Deadly Skills1st/7th Scouts Basic patrol camp

    September 13th-15th 2013

West Hall Scout Campsite, Moor Lane, Whitburn.

Its like slave labour.. we had to cook a three course dinner in dutch ovens, over a fire that

we had to light ourselves using fire steels and bits and pieces from the woods

I asked for a bedroom with a better view, so Bill offered to adjust my hammock

At this camp, which is a back to basics patrol camp we will concentrate on gaining essential skills,

completing badges. Skills gained will include camping, firelighting, cooking on dutch ovens, pioneering,

team work/wide games, hiking, map-reading and basic first aid. We will be camping in patrol tents,

lightweight tents and scouts will get the opportunity of sleeping with hammocks and tarps in the woods.

Cost will be 30 for the weekend to include all food and camping fees. Although there is no theme-ing

around this camp (like cowboys and indians or mystery camp) we will be doing all the things we normally

enjoy . The camp will be open to 1st/7th Scouts only, including those going to explorers in 2013, new scouts
