Dr. Frank Mill will describe his experiences in working between academia and industry and outline the lessons learned in developing successful collaborations. The benefits to end users, the resellers, Siemens, and of course students will be described and the varying models of collaboration explored. He will give examples of some of his University’s work that has involved working with companies such as Alexander Dennis Limited (bus manufacturer), UCP (packaging) and Ion Beam Services Ltd. The talk is aimed at resellers and industrialists who might come into contact with an academic user of Solid Edge and who could benefit from close links with students, graduates and perhaps project based investigations of possible future innovations.
