Select a scene, set Home screen or Lock screen wallpaper to use, and set the default ring tone to use for incoming calls.
Wireless & networks
Configure handset wireless connections, such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth®, activate Airplane mode*, or set options for mobile networks, roaming and more.
CallSet up call services such as Voicemail, Call Forwarding, Call Waiting, and caller ID.
Sound & display
Set the phone and notification ring tones, automatic screen orientation, and set the screen brightness and screen timeout.

Adjusting Screen Brightness Manually

2. Brightness > Clear “Automatic brightness” box
3. Adjust screen brightness > OK
Adjusting Time Before Screen Turns Off
After a period of inactivity, handset screen turns off to conserve battery power. You can set the idle time before the screen turns off.

2. Screen timeout > Select the time before the screen turns off
Preventing Automatic Screen Rotation
1. Menu Key ( ) > Settings > Sound & display
2. Clear “Orientation” box
Recalibrating G-sensor
Recalibrate G-sensor to improve screen orientation response to handset position, for example when playing “Teeter” game, or changing web browser orientation.

Optimizing Battery LifeFollow these tips to extend the time between charges:● Turn off wireless functions such as
Bluetooth®, Wi-Fi, and data connection when you’re not using them (P.11-2, P.12-2).
● Avoid using GPS satellites to determine your location (P.16-2).
● Lower screen brightness (P.19-3).● Cancel screen animations (P.2-3).● Cut down on activities such as Internet
browsing.● Avoid making very long phone calls or using
Camera for extended periods of time.● Consider carrying a spare battery when you
cannot charge battery for an extended period.● Batteries gradually lose storage capacity over
time. Consider replacing battery if you notice that battery life is decreasing.
Using GSM Network
Outside Japan, switching to a GSM network (for anything besides data connection via the Internet) is one way to reduce battery power consumption.● Use only GSM networks.
