Sending email using IPA address in Gmail

We can send email from Gmail us ing our other email account(s). The steps are as follows.

1. Go to “Settings”

2. Go to “Accounts and Import”3. Click on “Send mail from ano ther address”4. Note that we can choose to reply from the same address the message was sent to

5. Add another email address we own6. Follow the instructions after we click “Next Step”7. We have to login to your other email account. A verification email will be sent by Gmail and we have to enter verification code or click on

the activation link in the email.

8. Voila! We can send email from Gmail using our other email accounts

Setting up Signature for IPA account

We can set up unique Signature for each of our accounts in Gmail. The steps are as follows.

1. Go to “Settings”

7. To standardize, highlight your signature and remove formatting. Fancy fonts when sent to other mailboxes may not be read properly.

8. For easier read, please use the following color [RGB (0, 0, 153) for name only. All other should be BLACK.

9. Voila! The signature appears ONLY on your IPA account.

10. This is how it looks like when sent out to a Lotus Notes. Notice that the font of the Signature received by Lotus Notes is different from ouroriginal signature.

Setting up a Filter for emails addressed to your IPA account

If our IPA emails are forwarded to our Gmail, we can set up a filter to identify emails sent to IPA account. A filter acts like a folder in Gmail. Thesteps are as follows.

1. Click on “Create Filter”

2. Enter our IPA email account in the “To:” field3. We can test search to see that this filters will filter which emails currently already in our inbox4. Once we are satisfied that the filter filters the emails we intend it to, click on “Next Step”

5. We can create a new label (e.g. “IPA 2010”)

6. Choose the label we want the filtered emails to be labeled with

7. Voila! Our emails from IPA account is l abeled with our desired label (e.g. “IPA 2010”)8. If we archived them, they will not appear in our inbox but in the “IPA 2010” folder instead
